hello i am going through my brainstorming document and looking at some ideas for gallavich aus/fics so here I am sharing some of the concepts. these aren’t planned out in detail and are rather just ideas/vibes, but I’m hoping to write them at some point after I finish bright as the stars and I thought I’d share them:
1. soulmate/arranged relationship au - “arranged to be (fate in our hands)”
- this universe is me mashing together two tropes that are kinda similar anyways, but! there is a system, created by scientist couple! kev and v (someone needs to be the scientists and i chose them bc of course) that basically plays matchmaker to people who use it. there is a science fiction element, here, where there is some sort of scientifically and always-correct way of tracking who is meant to be together. i
- this thing starts as an app in the south side when ian is a kid but by the time he’s in his 20s, it is very popular. there’s a little bit of a dystopian vibe bc the government realizes how convenient it is to pair people off early. divorce rates go down, marriage rates go up, blah blah blah it makes things smoother. bc of this, the government has a program in place where if you take part in this program, you and your assigned soulmate get a nice apartment for cheap and additional government financial aid. it’s a scheme to get the soulmate system put in place worldwide but y’know! it works
- ian is looking for love and mickey is looking for money + an escape from his family and obviously, they get paired together. suddenly they’re living together and ian wants his soulmate to meet his family and there’s the detail of ian and mickey knowing each other vaguely due to their families/childhood run-ins
- it’s like ‘reluctant soulmates’ to ‘oh my god i’m actually in love’
- this is more background info than anything, but unlike other soulmate aus where the marks/words/strings/whatever have always existed and are just part of nature/how the world works, this system was discovered and invented in the last few decades so a lot of people think it’s absolute bullshit. this is the ballpark mickey’s in, while ian wants to be hopeful that the system is working in his favor
- this would be a short multichaptered thing, showing their life over the course of a few months
2. bakers au - “there ain’t no need for recipes”
- ian and mickey own a bakery on the west side, post-canon
- they are in love and married and they wear cute aprons and ian bakes cakes with strawberries in them and mickey uses chocolate in a lot of their recipes.
- yeah that’s pretty much it. this would be a cute little oneshot, i think
3. podcaster!mickey x streamer/youtuber!ian - “listen up, I’ll fuck u-up”
- mickey has a podcast where he talks about internet trends, including popular games. he’s known for being very critical towards anything and everything, it’s his persona and people love him for it. not every episode includes a guest, but a lot of them include people relevant to the topic, and his whole bit involves bickering with them
- ian gallagher is relevant to the topic of the upcoming episode, a fictional first-person shooter type thing i’ll come up with later. ian’s online personality is very like chill and generally kind so when he agrees to guest star on the podcast, those personalities clash. so they both dial back a bit and give off a different vibe then they do in the rest of their content
- so ppl want more of them together.
- mickey agrees to play the game live with ian on twitch, and that does very well. then the vod is edited down for youtube. and that gets million of views
- for the sake of mutual profit, they agree to keep doing stuff together and uh oh oh no they’re falling in love. this would could be a realllly long oneshot or a short multichaptered fic with lots of social media interludes (like fake tweets and such).

4. college kids!gallavich, annoyance to lovers au - “how to build a loving home”
- this one is actually kinda similar to the first one except they’re younger and the setting is a college campus
- in an effort to teach young adults how to run a house and maybe convince them to go after the typical “american dream”, some colleges start requiring a home economics class for freshman. and at the end of that course, there’s a big project known as the “Domestic Experience Project”.
- basically, two students are paired together to live in an apartment during the end of their freshman year. the project involves basically just trying to run a small-and-controlled ‘household’ without the help of any older adults. there’s assignments, too, that kinda force them to do household things together. so like, finances and cleaning and cooking all while still managing school
- this whole thing is brand new to the college ian and mickey attends, so any non-freshman who didn’t have to take the class are offered cheaper room and board if they take the course anyways, which is how they end up in the class together
- they interact a few times over the course of the year but generally speaking, they kinda annoy each other
- oh no oh fuck they’re paired together for the project. and now they’re living together. for two months.
- don’t have any specifics on how their relationship would progress but by the end of the two months, they would be pretty much together so. definitely not slowburn hjjsiaksja. this would be another multichaptered fic, i think

these are all just concepts without plans, so if will be a while before any of these become anything if they even do, but I thought I would share them in case anyone was interested! I think I’m most interested in seeing while idea people are most intrigued by.
