Drew a little headcanon piece for my MLP next gen universe, depicting two minor characters from the show that became mothers much earlier that expected. Ditzy Doo (or "Derpy" as she is sometimes referred to by friends and family) once dated a unicorn stallion named Ponet when she was a teenager. After she got pregnant, Ponet broke up with Ditzy and ended up cutting all ties with her as he felt that he wasn't ready to be a father just yet. Since this was her first relationship, the young Ditzy was of course heartbroken by her coltfriend ditching her like that. Fortunately, Ditzy's family was more than willing to help her care for her foal, which ended up being a unicorn filly she named Dinky Doo. Later in life, Ponet ended up regretting what he did and reached out to Ditzy when Dinky was in her early teens. Having since found a husband (Dr. Hooves) and had a family of her own with him, Ditzy forgave Ponet and allowed him to meet Dinky. Dinky isn't as close to Ponet as she is with her mom and step-dad, but they have formed something of a father-daughter relationship with each other. Lyra Heartstrings was once the marefriend of Written Script. She ended up getting pregnant while they were still teens and Script was more than willing to stay with her and support both her and their foal. While Lyra did care about Script, while they were together Lyra started to realize that she was more attracted to mares rather than stallions and couldn't see Script as anything more than just a good friend. She broke this news to Script, and while he was initially saddened that they would never be a proper couple, he was still willing to support their foal. Lyra later gave birth to a filly named Liza Doolots, with her and Script sharing joint custody of her. While things didn't work out romantically between the two of them, Written Script and Lyra Heartstrings are still good friends and have since found spouses of their own.

                     our sadness comes with the night, and perhaps our hearts grow several shades darker too. among the quiet, we reminisce of things lost.

Buttons and Written Script are cute and in love. Their family is colorful and perfect and the two are in it for the long haul.

Februpony Day 3: Favorite Background Pony

You get to see Golden Harvest and Written Script nuzzling in the background and I love how low-key this relationship is. It’s canon but not very widespread in the fandom. So it feels like a lovely secluded part of the world away from the fandom.
