Make-Believe

You declare yourself

as the protector of your love

to fight with every inch of your body

all that could go wrong.

And with every day

you realize more that

it is not up to you to decide

whether your love can be

protected.

many blind eyes against 

the many instances where

try to push it through and

to let those thorns
