not to get too meta but hockeyblr in the amatts born early au realizing auston matthews almost was born late enough to qualify for the 2016 draft instead of 2015 draft leads to posts from 2015 draft fans about not being able imagine hockey without the big five and being very compelled/distraught over how different things could have been, since we would likely be just as attached to the lore and narratives and rosters in front of us no matter what they were, and also leafs fans specifically doing what we are doing right now and recreating 1634 through the logic of draft positions etc. once again no one reimagines connor's life that much; no matter how meta we get its always going to be what it is for connie.
