so a bit of a tl;dr summary of one mr. hwang seongbin:
basically, he grew up somewhat spoiled in the sense that he’s never had to work hard for anything unless he really wanted to. only child, received lots of love and attention and support for whatever hobby or interest he had. just happened that he had an aunt who lived in los angeles, california that he went to live with during middle school (his choice, he wanted an adventure) and he fell in love with hip hop and rap music, started to dance and rap, and then his aunt introduced the idea of being a singer in korea to him and he was all in on that.
he’s actually a very talented guy! and quite dedicated to his craft, but fortunately or unfortunately (depending on your perspective), it’s always come easy to him and never felt like hard work (maybe because he was enjoying it too much and never had to struggle or suffer for it). so he’s got this idea in his head that he’s just naturally better or more talented than everyone else.
probably didn’t help that he appeared on high school rapper in 2018 and made it to the finals despite having very little competitive or tv experience and was signed to yuseong ent. shortly after. he was a little bitter he didn’t win first prize, but when he was almost immediately put into a debut lineup with phoenix, he quickly forgot about that.
phoenix’s main rapper and lead dancer since their debut in 2018! depending on how tolerant your muse is, he might not be the easiest guy to get along with. he’s not very good at hiding the fact that he’s pretty cocky and full of himself and can be a bit patronizing because of that. “what do you mean you’re struggling with this choreography? it’s easy, see? *dances (almost) flawlessly*”, that sort of attitude. he’ll help his teammates but he’ll act exasperated about it the whole time and never lets anyone forget that he only trained for three months before he was considered debut-ready; i don’t think he’s ever said it outright, but he’s probably implied that that makes him better than his members.
he’s not a bad guy, but he’s not the nicest either, as you might be able to tell. he’s fun, has a good sense of humor, and there’s really nothing to complain about as far as his work ethic goes. but he’s not exactly.... likable.... to some people.......
also was part of D4NC3RB01 with cha bomin, but was super flaky and unreliable since most of his time with the group he was either on high school rapper or training at yuseong, both of which he prioritized over a little dance crew with friends.
some plot/thread/relationship ideas!!
would love to see him with some ex plots... maybe it was a very short-lived fling, maybe your muse realized that he’s more in love with himself than he was with your muse. this would take a bit of plotting to figure out specifics, but i think it’d be interesting to explore: a) seongbin’s selfish side where he really only used your muse for attention and feels no guilt/regret about the breakup or b) someone that seongbin actually really liked but screwed it up by being... himself....... c) messy exes are also always fun and as much as i don’t condone his behavior he’s not above using others for attention/validation
newer idols/trainees in yuseong who might’ve been signed around the same time with even though he debuted so much sooner than the rest of them. maybe could be a rivalry plot? he’d absolutely hold it over someone’s head that he’s “so much better” than them for what a quick and easy path to debut he had. alternatively, someone who isn’t bothered by his attitude (or acknowledges it) that can just be a friend who tries to keep his ego in check?
ALSO newer idols/trainees who were signed after phoenix’s debut who might’ve been a fan of seongbin... you know what they say about never meeting your idols.... maybe your muse was very quickly disappointed by his off-stage attitude (being cocky and confident makes for great entertainment on-screen but is so annoying off-screen) OR is still under the illusion that seongbin is a good person :’)
another muse who’s better at something than seongbin is. could be almost anything: he’s not a strong actor, a decent singer but not the best, better at a certain sport, certain instrument, anything. hell, it could be the fact that your tiktok got more likes than his or something equally petty or inconsequential. he hates the fact that he’s second place (or lower) in anything. could either be a friendly rivalry where your muse is actively helping him improve in whatever skill they have, or a less friendly relationship.
someone older/more senior than seongbin who actively tries to warn him about his behavior, rein it in, and maybe act like a mentor figure. seongbin’s not going to be an easy one to teach to behave (especially since he hasn’t gotten in any significant trouble so far), but you haven’t given up on him yet! someone’s gotta save this kid from himself.

BACKGROUND.
straight off the bat, she’s got abandonment and commitment issues because of her cheating father!! she thought they were the perfect family but then she soon learned that he’d been cheating on her mom even before she was born. naturally, dohee’s sort of the fix-up baby that they had, but she did not fix anything for them!!!
this only leads to her feeling like she needs to overcompensate by being the best at everything. she craves attention and approval from the people around her because that’s how she feels loved
it’s not healthy but who said anything about dohee having a healthy outlook on life!!!
anyway, her mother’s a classical musician which means that dohee’s been to broadcasting stations starting from a young age. whenever her mother gets invited, she tags along. that’s where she first gets the idea of becoming an idol because she sees all the fans waiting in line to see their star and then the screams and yells. to her, it seems like the best way to feel validated
auditions for yuseong at 2016 and makes it in! gets passed up for etoile’s debut lineup though, but she thinks it’s because she’s young or whatever (tries to justify it). four years go by without nothing and then she’s told by yuseong that her contract has been bought out by wishbone records
i mean... she’s pretty mad lmao this is a completely new company in her eyes, and she feels like she wasted 4 years of her life at yuseong since she won’t be debuting under them!! nevertheless, she goes with it and then debuts in dandelion a year later in 2021!! happy ending, right?
kind of. she’s pretty satisfied with where dandelion stands right now (that viral moment needed to happen for her), but she wants more. she’s the most ambitious out of my muses, and she literally [sharpay evans vc] wants it all
wants to release solo music (she’s very confident in her voice and i blame it on her singing wendy’s lines for dandelion’s red velvet releases), wants to be on the cover of magazines, be the face of all these brands, wants to be a variety-dol and even write music sometime in the future
PERSONALITY.
as stated, she’s very ambitious. the type of person to fight for what she believes she deserves. career-driven because she thinks being successful is the only way to feel desired and wanted
that’s not to say that she’s a naturally extroverted person though. the persona she puts on for the cameras is pretty sejeong-esque where she’s bright and super energetic but that’s all dohee trying to squeeze out all that energy for the cameras
once the cameras go off, she needs to recharge. she’s a little more quiet and likes to keep to herself if she can. this has probably led to rumors about her being super fake and having an attitude when really it’s just her being exhausted after putting on a forced personality for the cameras
her fans like to label her as a born-to-be idol because of this reason though. she’s always doing what fans ask of her, and she doesn’t say no to fan requests. very likely to put on that girlfriend act and will do anything that makes her fans happy. gets complimented by non-fans too because she appears to be hardworking and knows how to feel thankful to her fans
honestly, she probably comes off as appearing to be super confident in everything she does, but other than her voice she’s kind of insecure? it’s why she seeks so much validation. if you catch her in one of her vulnerable moments, 99% likely to cry lol she doesn’t know how to express her emotions well but she cries waterfalls at any moment
really random fact but she hates her stage name lmao mainly because it doesn’t feel like she’s the one getting the love. has stated before publicly that she prefers to be called by her real name by fans
PLOT IDEAS.
anybody from yuseong at 2016-2020! i do think the dynamic of a relationship would depend on who you are, but there’s no way you haven’t bumped into her since she was there for 4 years. she was a very in-your-face trainee too because she wanted to appear good to her seniors
maybe you catch her behind the scenes somewhere and you’re super shocked to see how different she is off-camera! this could be negative or it could just be neutral. or if you want something deeper, maybe you think that dohee’s hiding behind a mask and you try to get her to talk about it
because she can come off as being snobby and off-handish, i do think it’s very possible that there are people who don’t have a great image of her? again, i’m sure somebody’s bound to think she’s very fake and just doesn’t vibe with her
(would require some more intensive plotting) but someone please give her a slowburn romance? i think she’s perfect for that because she has a hard time committing to a relationship. the moment she likes someone and she learns they like her back, she takes like three steps back because she’s afraid it’s going to end up in a mess. blame her dad for that!!
for the same reason above, i’m sure she has some exes that had to break it off because they felt like she didn’t feel the same. whether she really didn’t or not is up for debate, but there’s a good chance she only pushed them away because she doesn’t know how to be in a relationship
dandelion members: she’s a pretty good leader. kind of strict though. the type of leader who probably tries to stop her members from using even slang when they’re in front of the cameras because it’s not proper language to use. very professional and kind of protective of her members even if she doesn’t appear like it!! look, she spent 4 years training and then finally got a group to call her own. she’ll do anything she can to protect that and the rest of the girls

Went to Hanlim out of obligation to his parents but ended up not minding it ( especially since he ended up meeting some friends there! ), and it was a lot better than just being forced to do piano recitals.
Somewhat neutral in his view of being an idol. Doesn’t mind Blue.M’s concept, doesn’t think it’s the best thing ever either. ( Though he has his own theories about the music videos thanks to his imagination concerning aliens. ( ie. The UFO in Bloom Bloom) and won’t shut up about it. )

Major imposter syndrome alert.
Often buys things for his friends and members without much question; however, he keeps a very detailed list of those who owe him and how much.
Although he puts on more of an act on stage, he finds value in being sincere in who he is and not changing his personality, even if he comes across as a bit cold at first.
Diagnosed with a panic disorder and will often self-isolate when things are not going well for him.
Wears glasses and can’t see that well without them. He can technically afford Lasik but he thinks the glasses give him a certain charm.
Afraid of heights; will basically physically shut down and cry if he has to go up somewhere too high.

People that went to Hanlim from 2016 to 2019. He was a relatively quiet student that kept to himself. However, he often helped others do homework and made a small business for himself writing papers for people.
A fellow Gamer (tm). Hyunsoo is a bit pretentious when it comes to games, however, and exclusively plays certain games. Good luck getting him to play anything else other than Elden Ring right now without annoying complaint.
Trainees at Yuseong from 2017 - 2021. Again, he was pretty much always keeping to himself as a trainee and had trouble asking anyone else for help at all, even when he was obviously struggling with things like dance. Unfortunately, he doesn’t really look up to anyone.
Exes. Probably never ends well. One of which he definitely broke up with before Blue.M debuted because of “the rules”, at the very latest. Another he probably got broken up with because he is not overly attentive in relationships and tends to keep to himself too much because he’s shy and extremely introverted; either way, he lowkey hates you for it.
A rival. Playfully so. He’s competitive but doesn’t take himself too seriously. Someone in another idol group who is also a vocal or has a similar image to him. If the other person took it more seriously though, that would probably be most realistic!
Actual friends. People who are actually into who he is, despite him being a lowkey blunt jerk who spends most of his time in his room. Will be made with good chemistry. He’s really overly picky with friends, because he’s concerned people will use him or his money for some sort of gain.
Alternatively, someone actually trying to use him for his money by being his friend after he buys them a whole meal one day. But the only people he’ll ever be a glucose guardian to are Blue.M and his close good friends.
Someone who constantly has technical issues and he is always fixing it for them. Alternatively, someone who has “technical issues” as a bid to try and talk to him more.

his father wasn't the greatest influence in his childhood and he went to jail when elliot was in his early teens
elliot considers himself a free spirit, dropping out of highschool at 16 to work at his mom's tattoo parlour while making a career out of posting videos on youtube
his older brother works as a music producer in seoul. elliot was street cast while on a trip visiting his brother
prior to joining ys, he spoke very little korean. he has since improved and is at a conversational level but still struggles sometimes. his japanese is much better than his korean
