One Piece Projects: what's coming and what's going away
SO, last December I review all my unfinished One Piece projects: Philosophy of One Piece, Philosophy of Life in One Piece, and Disney/One Piece parallels.
I went through each of them (especially the last two) and highlighted examples for future essays and new (and some better) parallels. But then I realized that my motive behind Philosophy of Life in One Piece – to see if the life philosophies espoused in One Piece were viable and useful – has since dwindled. I don’t have the same quandary I did when I started.
While One Piece as an overarching medium is not perfect, the ways of life and living it proposes thematically are not bad. At least I don’t feel that way any more. I see the positives of what it says. I don’t need to analyze the life philosophies I see and figure out if they’re good ones to adhere to.
That said, it means I’m going to get back into my main Philosophy of One Piece, and in particular, the theme of justice and morality that I’ve wanted to get to for a few years now.
So, I’ll start working on that and make some headway into the Disney/One Piece parallels. (A few will wait until after March, to wait for Moana to be released worldwide.)
