i actually come up with the characters’ personalities and the plotline simultaneously! the plot depends on the personality and sometimes, the personality depends on the plot. i think of it like this: if there are three paths, different personalities will choose different paths because they think or react uniquely to situations. i also made a character template that i use for all of my characters because i’m fucking insane (:
anyways, in wwacot’s case, i knew i had to make a hella extroverted yn because an introverted yn would not get the plot anywhere. like can you imagine if tae kissed an INTROVERTED yn?? she would never have said ANYTHING about it or would have never confessed to taehyung!! the story would like, not be the story we know today LOL
and for wtcf i wanted yn to have a character arc! (she is yet again an extroverted character who enjoys a lot of fun and social time.) but the point of the story was for her to change due to finishing school. i just felt the change would not be as noticeable enough if yn was already a shy character. i also don’t think if wtcf yn was curious or kind enough, she would’ve never followed jk home and would’ve never befriended him!!
as a side note, i don’t know if i do it intentionally, but in general, i like to have all of my characters quite likable! just because i don’t really believe in good and evil yk? i try not to have villains in my stories because i don’t think all the ‘bad’ in one story should be thrown onto one character. the ‘problems’ in my stories are usually internal conflicts, and maybe that’s why my yn’s seem likable! because they struggle through pain and hardship and you get to watch them mature and develop as a character in a few thousand words!
a lot of my yn’s are inspired by my friends/people i know/myself, too. so it’s always a HUGE compliment when people like them!!

So my grandparents were just visiting and I mentioned Greta Van Fleet because... duh.. and they told me to play them a song even though I knew they wouldn't like it (for reference, they never liked led zeppelin, only listen to old country, and "don't like singers that scream") so naturally I played them the WTCF music video. As soon as it was over, my grandpa goes "what the HELL just happened" and then he told me to play some other old song. When it got over he goes "see that song told a whole story" very pointedly implying that WTCF didn't have a story. So naturally I proceeded to explain to him the meaning behind the song and about the star and her struggles with fame and he goes "you got THAT from all that SCREECHING??" Yes grandpa. Yes I did.
HA. I remember writing that story. I really felt like a powerful god because it was the most popular thing I had written and I’d be like “give me 30 reviews in 24 hours and I’ll update tomorrow” and people would just….give me 40 reviews. And they had no idea I would soon be an angry god.
