hmmm...   how could the young bender explain this in a way that would make sense ?    it’s something steeped so deep within his core that he’s never thought about the why behind it.         ❝ i think that’s what makes airbending different.   our bending is so tightly intwined with our culture and beliefs.  ❞         the fact that every air nomad was a bender certainly helped strengthen that connection between bending and beliefs.

❝ we’re pacifists so our bending is defensive and evasive.   air nomads never seek out a fight and avoid striking opponents directly. ❞        until recently, aang couldn’t remember ever striking someone directly.        ❝ the monks never even taught us many offensive moves.   we never had a need for them. ❞         that’s all changed now though,  hasn’t it ?

Falling in love with fall starters // Accepting

The changing leaves were rather beautiful especially in contrast with the vast blue sky that spread far ahead of them. Mixed with the crisp autumn air and light breeze it was a beautiful day for a walk. If Amity could stop for just a moment and actually enjoy it. Instead of being preoccupied with the school work she had to do. She was so preoccupied she almost didn’t realize the other was speaking to her until she realized the other girl hadn’t left yet. That brought her attention away from her book to meet eyes with the other girl. She glanced to the leaf strewn path that would lead away from school and back towards home. She still wasn’t convinced the other was actually talking to her. Maybe she was talking aloud, preparing to ask someone else. Like when Amity was trying to find the perfect words for a later conversation.

“I’m sorry but were you talking to me? I was so focused on my reading I missed who that question was meant for.”

❛  you’re a pretty sore excuse for an avatar.  ❜     a harsh statement  /  but toph is not a soft person.  not like her family would want her to be.  no.  she is made of stone and rock  /  unmoving and unrelenting.  and really  ,  they wanted her to train this avatar  ,  the least this avatar could do was act like one.  all this moping was getting boring.     ❛  can’t even move a little rock.  ❜     it is not a little rock  ,  it is a decidedly large rock.  one that toph had to bend into place. 

but she does not have time to deal with an avatar all caught up in emotions.  revenge a rather pointless endeavor when the source of anger is not right in front of her.  should focus on the now.  the now which is currently trying to impress a very judgmental bending teacher.
