White-throated Sparrow (Zonotrichia albicollis). Family Passerellidae, order Passeriformes.

These birds were a rare visitor to my feeder, and only came out when there was snow on the ground. It was very shy among the Dark-eyed Juncos and mostly kept to itself.

How does everyone in the house feel about Rosie the tarantula?

Kyle: Obviously Kyle loves Rosie! Rosie is (kind of sadly) his oldest friend! Rosie was a gift for his birthday when he started middle school, and they've been together ever since. He likes to talk to her.

Eldan: Eldan is a lover of all creatures of the earth and so he loves Rosie too! He's big on 'all creatures serve a function in an ecosystem' so he likes spiders.

Ollie: Ollie is, well, he's afraid of spiders. And most bugs. Spiders definitely. He thinks that Rosie is scary. He tries not to go into Kyle's room because he's afraid of seeing Rosie.

Marion: He thinks Rosie is 'bad ass'. He feels a connection to Rosie because they're both predators. If possible he likes to be there when Kyle feeds Rosie and help, he likes to watch her hunt.

Jonah: Jonah doesn't have any strong opinions about Rosie. He was afraid of spiders when he was alive, but he's shaken that pretty well since he's been dead. He does find it interesting sometimes to watch her work, even though she largely spends her time under her log minding her own business. Jonah eventually develops an attachment to her, but mostly because of lingering effects from possessing Kyle.

all birds were captured with the necessary permits and released unharmed
