I think Claire is the murderer as well... She keeps getting sketchier
Ok, coupled with the fact now that she was apparently sleeping with one of the girl's dads, I think she may at least know more than she's letting on. Also, there's the fact that they kept trying to make out she and Ellie were quite similar in the first few episodes (murdering husband, it being a kid they knew, were close to the family, her life is now ruined due to her husband, etc.), but that got me thinking; what if Claire is like a Miller, but not the one we thought? What if she's like Joe? Maybe the older girl found out about the affair, said she'd tell her aunt (not realising her aunt was already well aware of the situation) and Claire panicked, because it would destroy her marriage too. Claire goes round there when the parents are away, argues with Lisa (the older girl), and they get in a fight, she accidentally kills her (hits her too hard with a blunt instrument, picks up a knife, whatever). Then, Claire panics, she's covered in blood, and Pepper's come downstairs. The kid sees the body and Claire grabs her, putting her hand over her mouth and nose so she can't scream, alert anyone. But instead, she accidentally suffocates her (much like Joe accidentally strangles Danny by not paying attention to what he's doing). So, Claire dumps Pepper's body in the river, hoping it'll look like she'd drowned instead, and moves Lisa's body somewhere else.
Claire told Ellie that Lee had drugged her and when she woke up he was cleaning the whole house. What if it's the other way round? She drugged him, and had the body and/ or the murder weapon downstairs, and her clothes had had blood on them, etc. and in a panic she cleaned the whole house, so that nothing from the kids would show up in the house- after all, if either of them struggled against her, Claire could have brought their DNA back to the house with her. And as for the necklace being in Lee's car, maybe Claire did it so as not to incriminate herself, certain the affair would come up, and instead she accidentally framed her husband. (Same for the hair on the pillow- if Claire went in Pepper's room, that hair could have been attached to her clothes or jewellery somehow? And maybe that's how it got left)
I'm not sure they'd actually go down this route, and I have no idea where Claire would have moved Lisa's body in that case, or how they wouldn't have found it. But hey, that's just an idea given Claire's shifty looks and them trying to make out she's like Ellie (also, Ellie becoming friends with her- I can see that ending in tears...)

it is completely understandable to be sad, I am sorry it makes you feel that way now :( I get where you are coming from. The Doctor just isn’t written like he used to be.
