New Fic: Hard Bargain

Quite sadly, it seems there is only one fic on AO3 tagged Asami/Prince Wu, and it's only background to Korrasami at that. So here's a short preview of my next rarepair challenge fic:

“So what do you think?” Prince Wu asked. “You wanna hop on the Wu train?”

Asami sighed. “Sure.”

“Sure? That’s all I get?” Wu furrowed his brows. “Not ‘wow!’ or ‘amazing!’ or ‘I just can’t wait to be Queen of the Earth Kingdom?’”

“I thought you were making it a Republic?”

“I am. But ‘Presidentress of the Earth Republic of States’ doesn’t sound nearly as good as queen, does it?”

Asami snorted softly into her tea. Presidentress? Spirits, he really did need her, didn’t he?

“So whaddaya say?”

She looked up at that. The prince’s tone was light, but there was a slight edge in it now, an undercurrent of nervousness she hadn’t heard before. His soft green eyes seemed a little too bright.

“Please?” he added.

Asami reached across the table and held out her hand. What did she have to lose these days?

“I can't wait,” she said. “My king.”
