You and Remus had been at this for quite some time now. If you were to make a pun, you’d say that you’d been dancing this dance with him for ages.
Though right now more accurately, you were trying to make him dance this dance with you.
You frowned down with him, your hand outstretched, as the couples whirled past you two.
“Even at your best friends wedding?”
James laughed in the distance as he spun around with Lily on the dance floor. Remus watched them for a moment before looking back at you. “Even then.”
Your eyes narrowed a bit as you looked down at him, taking him in the best you could. He’d always been like this, keeping you at arms length. “Why don’t you like dancing Remus?”
His brown eyes stared at yours for a moment before he finally looked away, “It seems an odd time to start dancing doesn’t it? When there’s a war.”
Somehow it didn’t seem like you two were talking about dancing anymore.
“That seems like the perfect time to dance.”
He was silent for a while, as he considered the words before finally taking your hand and leading you out to the floor. “Maybe you’ve got a point.”
