the kids aren't alright (x)
It had been a while since their last meeting. Sidney couldn't forget that night, it was filled with everything his nightmares were; she saw him for what he really was, he almost raised his hand to her-- almost, but that didn't quite count. For once, "almost", was like sailing into oblivion, you couldn't escape it. They broke up. And she deserved better.
and in the end------ i'd do it all again.
"Don't you get it yet?" he spat at her in defence, backing away from her; for her sake. He shielded his eyes. "Get what, Sid?" Trix's voice kept rising with each passing moment, and every time he would flinch. "You're not-- this isn't you, you're not evil! That's bullshit," he only looked at her with sad eyes. He felt small. "I'm only going to destroy you." "I know," she replied, like it didn't even matter-- it did, he knew it did. "But only I have the choice in saying who hurts me, Sid Phillips, and I don't mind if it's you." ... "I'll still kick your ass, though, don't even think about pulling another move like that. Again."
i think you're my best friend.
She helped him. It was unusual, someone being there for him-- he had Hannah, yeah, but that situation was complicated. Everyone knew that. No one had ever, truly, wanted to help him. He was left to his own devices, stuck in his own twisted mind, like a maze. And only Trix helped him out of that. "It's bullshit," he laughed, eyes never straying from the T.V set as Trix playfully hit him. "You know, I'm not afraid to hurt you-- and I will, I totally will. Sleep with one eye open tonight, Phillips." She mused with a grin. "You'd never hurt me," Sid quipped, rather smug. "I'm your best friend. You love me too much to do that."
don't you know that the kids aren't, the kids aren't alright?
It nearly killed him. After Trix had lost her sister, she changed. She became distant, cold towards anyone that entered the same room as her. Sid had been used to her pushing him away when she was upset, but this was different. He didn't know how to comfort her. "Go away," she said, her voice breaking as she tried to conceal the tears threatening to stream down her cheeks. Sid didn't say anything, he simply looked at her. He didn't know how, he really didn't, but the affect the situation had on Trix, it left him in a worse state. He stumbled back, shocked by the sudden action. "I'm so sorry..." he mumbled into the nape of her neck, wrapping his arms around her securely; as if to keep them both from falling apart. He feared the moment he would have to let go.
