I am only a second generation Canadian. My grandfather on my mom's side is an immigrant from Amsterdam from WW2 (The Nazi's wanted to recruit my great opa and my family just noped on over to Canada) and both my grandparents on my dad's side came over from Ireland and Wales!

My muse is in the hospital, they will be recovering for a while, send "by your side till you heal" for my muse's reaction to opening their eyes and seeing your muse at their side.
The world came together slowly, first sound filtering in -- the beep, beep, beep of a heart monitor, people moving around in the hall, the rattle of his own breathing -- then bright lights. Everything hurt. He didn't want to open his eyes, the lights making his temples throb.
After a few moments of laying still, letting his brain play catch up to try and figure out why he was even in the hospital, he realized there was someone in the room with him.
He opened his eyes again, pushing past the initial pain of the bright light and blinking a few times to get the blurry shapes to take form. He smiled, albeit a bit weakly, when he saw Natasha sitting next to him, flipping through a magazine.
"Hey, Tash." He croaked, his voice rough from disuse and having an intubation tube shoved down his throat earlier when he was brought in.
"About time." She snorted, looking up at him, though she was smiling back at him.
