Grown-Up Night by dogwithanattitudeproblem | complete, teen & up, 5+1 things, developing relationship, hurt/comfort, getting together | likeeeeee is it really rpf if the majority of it is based on willmack’s insanely real life, nonfictional, codependent dynamics? anyway, this one is incredibly sweet! will thinks macklin deserves the world and does everything he can to give it to him :( a 5+1 fic based around will driving macklin around, the sleepover, etc,. so so good!!

A Soul in Tune by alltimecharlo | complete, general audience, soulmates, soul bond, you don’t know who your soulmate is until you’re parted from them | there is nothing i love more than a willmack soulmate au!! this one is so good; such a sweet and easy read. macklin is injured and cannot play, so will has to travel without him. both of them then suspiciously fall ill and are in pain hmmm very suspicious and coincidental i wonder why tee hee!

If Dreams were Thunder (and Lightning was Desire) by anonymous | complete, explicit, angst with a happy ending, bdsm, macklin celebrini has a praise kink | such an incredibly well written fic. very heavy on the bdsm but it’s so sweetly and tenderly written. contains touch-starved (biological) sub macklin who makes a lot of dumb decisions to avoid going to the one person who can help him. also features the softest dom will who wants to help macklin so badly. 💌 all time favorite.

Dead Reckoning by tanlines | one-shot, explicit, codependency, mutual pining, intimacy | willmack having borderline unhealthy levels of codependency? sign me up! filthy in the best way possible, will and macklin are very not normal about each other and if they could fuse together they would :D lots of touching and physicality and intimacy. super super good.

There’s a First Time for Everything by moorsofmystery | one-shot, mature, first kiss, feelings realization, coming out to each other | i love this one! takes place during sharks dev camp, will and macklin room together, and will finds out macklin has never kissed anyone (amongst other activities ;) ). will and macklin handle it accordingly.

How Can We Go Back to Being Friends? by thisisouryear | explicit, complete, biological dom/sub, slow burn, happy ending, rick celebrini’s a+ parenting | another bio dom/sub rec! features biological sub macklin (who takes a not so safe medication to avoid having to scene regulary) and the sweetest biological dom will. willmack are very dumb and stubborn hockey boys at times and could avoid a lot of turmoil if they just communicate properly but all is well in the end! i really really like the world building in this one. 💌 all time favorite.

Futile Devices by eevierus | one-shot, mature, pining, codependency, angst with a happy ending, non-linear narrative | absolutely heart wrenching in the best way possible. the shifts between past and present are so beautifully done that it breaks your heart and puts it right back together. the way macklin struggles to just let himself enjoy the relationship he has with will contrasts so beautifully with the way will is so open and ready to have that relationship. 💌 all time favorite.

I Can’t Fuck It Up (If It’s Not There at All) by sendingpstcrds | one-shot, teen & up, autistic macklin, established relationship, hurt/comfort | i love love love this one. chronic over-thinker macklin gets lost in his own head after a rough patch of games and blames himself for the teams’ performance. will is the sweetest boyfriend ever and takes such good care of macklin. love the way their dynamics are written in this one.

Golden Boy by dalsy | one-shot, explicit, established relationship, soft hockey boys, macklin has a praise kink, service top will | (slight canon divergence) based around the 2026 winter olympics. will flies out for a game, and waits up for macklin at a hotel. will just takes such good care of macklin in this one. features the softest subbiest superstar macklin and an even softer service dom will who loves his superstar very much :(

Go to The Limits of Your Longing by lilliesinwater | complete, mature, different first meeting au, will is not a hockey player, slow burn, mutual pining | i adore the characterization of macklin in this one! his (slightly manic) mannerisms and speech patterns and overall personality traits are just so well written you can basically see and hear them. and the way it mellows out as his relationship with will develops (very ‘enter smith, 20’ if you ask me). macklin is still a hockey player but will is a communications executive for the sharks in this one! so much pining and tension and slow burn goodness. 💌 all time favorite.

Constantly thinking about the fact that Will and Macklin always have to be touching.

When they’re on the bench, they’re not just next to each other; they’re shoulder to shoulder, hip to hip, leg to leg. One of them scoots down an inch, the other immediately follows. If Will leans forward, Macklin mirrors his action instinctively. If Macklin leans backwards to catch his breath after a shift, Will makes sure their bodies stay connected. They can’t help themselves.

When they’re orbiting each other on the ice, they’re almost too close. Pressed against each other’s backs, jerseys brushing, skates damn near touching. Skating away from each other and reconnecting milliseconds later just to have those fleeting little touches. Playful little checks against the boards during practice just to feel each other. Like they’re in their own little world.

Even off the ice, even when they’re not being broadcasted on live television, they just have to be touching. When they pass something to each other, their hands brush for just a second too long. When they’re next to each other, they’re pressed as closely as they can be (re: willmack interview with Cat and Toff). When they’re speaking to each other, it’s like the rest of the world disappears. Whispering and giggling in each other’s faces (re: the balcony video™).

It’s instinctive. It’s unconscious. It’s the type of behavior you have when you’re undeniably tethered to someone else in every way possible.

Good News (Just to be With You) by jtmikay | one-shot, explicit, slow build, angst with a happy ending, first kiss | this one takes place during willmack’s rookie season! macklin really wants to kiss will (and almost does many many times). lots and lots of pining
