I've been thinking about the thing that Aelin has to die because of that stupid decision of Elena. She has to give up on her life and her power to make new lock to give wyrdkeys to gate. What if she hasn't?

We know that it has to be Mala's bloodline to make that lock, so what if she and Dorian would do it together? You know, half and half of the needed power?

I hope you understood my babbling, english isn't my primary language and I'm not sure about translations from my language to english 😁

Mini Rant

Mini Rant about the end of Empire of Storms below. Spoilers abound:

So I was rereading the end of EoS and I feel the need to rant about the way the characters are treating Lorcan at the end of the book. Yes, he summoned Maeve. Yes, that was a HORRENDOUSLY bad idea, but while all the characters are busy blaming him for letting their infallible queen get captured there’s one crucial thing they’re overlooking:

Lorcan summoned Maeve because he thought that Ansel’s fleet was an enemy they weren’t prepared to face.

Aelin is massively egotistical and doesn’t like explaining her plans so she can enjoy feeling superior. This is ultimately the real thing that dooms the court in the end of EoS. If Aelin had just told everyone that she’d approached Ansel asking for help, they would have known a fleet showing up was a possibility, and Lorcan wouldn’t have panicked and summoned Maeve.

Not only that, on page 646-647 of the American hardcover, Maeve admits that her arrival was not dependent on Lorcan summoning her. She’d even leaked the court’s location to the Valg to deplete Aelin’s magic to make facing her easier. Maeve fully intended to attack the court while Aelin was weak, all Lorcan did by summoning Maeve was make it easier for her to find them. (And she would have probably  figured out about the Wyrdkeys without his help too, and the whole slip-them-in-Manon’s-pocket maneuver would still have been necessary.)

So basically, the rest of the characters should lay off Lorcan, because as convenient as it is to blame him, this isn’t really his fault.

What if Mala died when creating the Lock because she was older than humans?

What if Aelin just gives up her "immortal life" and ends up alive but aging; and Rowan, Aedion, Manon and the cadre have to watch not only Elide, Lysandra and Dorian die of old age but their queen?

I was looking through SJM’s ToG Pinterest board and I saw that she captioned this picture as Antica. Now that I think about it, what the hell do we even really know about freaking Antica?

Okay, so we all know that it’s the Southern continent’s stronghold. Chaol and Nesryn are going there to Torre Cesme to have his legs healed because of what happened in Queen of Shadows. Looking back at Assassin’s Blade, Celaena left money for Yrene Towers so she could go South to study and become a healer. THEY’RE PROBABLY GONNA MEET THAT IS GONNA BE SO EFFING AWESOME.

And since Torre Cesme is where healers study and Crochans live in hiding as healers, could they possibly be hiding in Antica? Dorian, Manon and the Thirteen are looking for the Crochans and the third wyrdkey, what if they all finally get together? SJM did say that characters from EoS will appear in ToD

BUT SERIOUSY WE KNOW SO LITTLE ABOUT THE SOUTHERN CONTINENT SO WE HAVE VERY LITTLE CONTENT TO WORK WITH

SJM did say that she loved writing and exploring this new place and its culture in ToD so that’s why the Chaol novella became an actual installment in the ToG Series. I guess we’ll learn much more about Antica soon enough, let’s theorize in the meantime and lemme just throw this shit out there.

Either way we’re all screwed anyway
