For me, thing about XCX:DE is that of all the XC games, it’s the one that has most successfully made me feel the awe and fear of exploring the game’s world.

Also it’s reminded me exactly how much I hate ambush type enemies (germivores, thalluses(?)…) and has introduced me to a mechanic that I also ABSOLUTELY hate—flinching due to being aggro’d by an enemy. Very sound mechanic in terms of like… thinking about it. Also it really sucks cause WE COULD HAVE KEPT RUNNING!!!

Never got to play the original XCX, but I saw some conversation about how the level 60 cap helped keep the world threatening and… yes, cool, great, but I really do appreciate the way level 99 means that even fewer enemies will be interested in ambushing you.

Anyway lots of thoughts and feelings here.
