If you want to send an ask, do! Talk to me about the games, all of them, even pied piper. Tell me about your favourite locations or how helpful Allan was when he fought alongside you for that brief time. Talk to me about cycles and breaking them. Or just say why you hate the games and all that.

I will read Childhood's End soon too, and I do enjoy science fiction (my favourite genre to write in, fantasy and horror themes are also good). Any recommendations on what to read? Tell me those too! I might even get round to reading it in a few decades!

There will be spoilers for the games, I will do my best to tag the game with their number or 'X' as well (xenogears and xenoblade without numbers, definitive edition if relevant as xb:de, the dlc/extra story will be their names - future connected, torna or torna: the golden country, and future redeemed).

Will be as active as long as I have thoughts on this, which will peak around the time of game news or if I replay the games at any point, this is also cyclical in nature, one which cannot be broken, so I will always return.

There's a REASON I interpret that scene in Xenogears when Citan and Fei share Rico's bed the way I do (even if you don't get the "yes, they actually For Real Did It" implication you get with Fei and Elly later on)

Kind of "we're about to go jumping trains and sneaking into the biggest military base around with a nuke looming over our heads and there's a billion ways this could go so wrong, and one of us is fucking over our own empire, and the other one could just switch places with his murder machine headmate and kill everything in sight for shits and giggles, yet we're all we've got and trust each other with everything" (and from the meta/gameplay narrative, you can only fuck up the train jump I think like three times before it's a game over, if I remember correctly my last full playthrough was a couple years ago)

And with the surrounding double-entendre dialog which is ALLEGEDLY your warning to check items and equipment but..., oh YEAH. Probably as gay as you could get in a mass market 1990s jrpg ;)

We often talk about "ludonarrative dissonance" in terms of morality and situations like "the story says violence is bad, but the gameplay enables and encourages you to kill things" but my actual fave version of it is "the story says you have a very serious plot-relevant time-sensitive thing to do, but the gameplay enables and encourages you to buzz off into the world and search for collectibles for five weeks"

kind of weird how parts of your soul are left in various locations without any warning… like yes i’m always at the top of that hill, sitting at the bus stop, in the cool light of the Japanese restaurant, standing at the pier etc etc

I haven't finished chapter 13 yet, but I already have a lot of thoughts. I will wait until finishing it (hopefully tomorrow or the latest Saturday) and maybe I'll actually use this blog to ramble my absolutely terrible thoughts on things

I cannot believe I was stuck on that spider for days (probably got lucky) and then immediately beat akhos first try and zeke second, now I'm outside the malos/akhos fight and I'll likely be stuck there for a while (got some bind resist stuff, so maybe we'll be okay). But that's for tomorrow. Now I sleep (should have gone bed 2 hours ago)

Also, I'm always around, just not very talky. I'm doing xc2 bringer of chaos and xenogears again because I want to.

I started trails in the sky (enjoying, want to do the whole series), and I played yakuza 0 and started kiwami (again, want to do the whole series).

But X is next year? Absolutely fantastic. Love it. Got to wait a few months? Fine, it is something to look forward to.
