22nd 3rd Spring Moon. We finally pulled into port in Isolation Bay today. Oddly jovial place given the name. First thing that catches the eye though is the number of merrowfolk just openly about the place. Up home their so elusive to be almost myth. Sure you know they're out there in the waves, and your gran or uncle's seen one or two. Hells even at sea you just catch them occasionally, scavenging the boats wake. Here though; you see three trading shells for anchovies from some kids on the dock. Got one the boys, the Pearthian bloke all bothered. Says where he's from even the ones that don't look like sharks will lure folk right of the beach. Suppose fishfolk might be like mortalfolks; different cultures in different places. 23rd 3rd Spring Moon Actually had a myself a conversation with a merrow, or as much as a fish talking in your head counts. Cost me a salted herring. Figured I'd ask it about that glowing merrow I thought I saw years back. Things eyes went wide at that. Said I saw one of "tangle" merrow. Supposedly they live in the deepest parts of the open sea to hide from deep dragons. Even other merrow don't often see them. Wonder if the lads would finally believe me I said it came from the merrow's mouth (brain? magics damn weird.) -excerpt from unknown sailor's journal
