Tolerance of ‘nerdy’ behavior and conversation is a must. He adores botany and biological things immensely, and he really can be overbearing about it sometimes. Once he gets it out of his system, though? You’re gold.
Respect boundaries. Considering that he’s a Mordesh, it’s probably wiser to anyway, especially when revolving around particular aspects of his life--like his Vitalus transfusions. Most of these requirements come from an awareness of his own dangerous capabilities or understanding of his own limits of control. Take it from the Dom. He knows what he can and can’t take.
Be forthright about your attraction or desires. He appreciates directness as much as he appreciates intelligence--which is to say in abundance. Knowing what you want and what you like is key. He is a professor and does all he can to guide, experimentation is encouraged, but know either what your own boundaries/wants are, or assure him that you are assertive enough to know to tell him in whatever way when enough is enough.

Having to kill… well, anything. It’s not anything overly foreign to him with animals (sadly), as N has a pretty damn good survival instinct. Ask him to kill a sentient being (ANY sentient being, from marauders to Dominion) and… well it’s going to be a bit of a mental trainwreck. N hates hurting people, and is pretty reluctant about doing so. Asking him to go against that is a nightmare.
