When Xiaojun told you to pack a bag for a warm trip, you packed a bag for a warm trip. When Xiaojun told you that you wouldn’t need the sweater you packed, you didn’t pack the sweater. When Xiaojun told you that this spontaneous trip would be somewhere hot during the day and warm at night, you trusted him and didn’t ask question.
Now you wish you didn’t listen to him. Granted, he was right about it being warm. The beach town he had chosen for this spontaneous trip was hot during the day even as you played in he refreshing water you couldn’t escape the heat. However, it had cooled down significantly at night.
While no, it wasn’t cold per say, you wouldn’t exactly call the steady breeze and incoming sea fog warm either. It was hard to keep the hairs from standing on your arms or the chill that ran down your back more and more frequently while you both sat on the patio of the restaurant. The dinner was good, but did little to keep away the chill for very long.
And of course, after dinner when Xiaojun insisted on taking a walk before heading back to the hotel, you couldn’t say no. The town was so cute and you wanted to take a look while it wasn’t hot out. But Xiaojun didn’t even notice the cold it seemed. No! Xiaojun was nice and warm in a hoodie, very similar to the very same sweater he had insisted you didn’t need.
“It’s kind of chilly,” You started.
He hummed, “Is it? Man, the moon looks huge tonight.”
“Yeah, wish I had brought that sweater after all.”
“This is like the biggest I’ve ever seen it! I have to take a picture.”
“If only I had a sweet and loving boyfriend who would lend me his sweater after he told me I didn’t need one,” You sighed dramatically.
“Wait, can you take a picture of me with it really quick, people might not believe me.”
“Yeah! I can’t believe you! Give me your sweater!”
“No, what? Take a picture of me with the moon really quick please,” Xiaojun explained.
“No, you weirdo! I’m on the brink of turning blue from the cold, let me use your sweater.”
“Is it really even that cold? I’m actually getting a little sweaty under here, are you sure you want it?” Xiaojun asked.
You whined, “Baby! I’m cold and you told me I didn’t need a sweater. You even took out my sweater that I snuck in my bag.”
He rolled his eyes lightheartedly and went on his long and stupid explanation about how by simply looking at the weather app, you would see that it would be sweltering hot with lots of sunshine. To which you replied that while yes, he was right about that, you could also see that the sun went away at around 7 o’clock and the weather dropped significantly at night.
A short and passionate conversation later, you were walking, well, more like shuffling back to the hotel with Xiaojun stuck to your back. He had refused to take his sweater off which led to him revealing he wasn’t actually wearing anything under his sweater. So his genius solution to this problem he had essentially created was to embrace you from behind to share his warmth. Then when that didn’t work he chose to drape his arms over your own.
“I can feel you shivering, here. Get in here with me, I don’t even care that it stretches out with your big head. Alright let’s be quick,” Xiaojun said, quickly pulling up the bottom of his hoodie while waving you over.
“Xiaojun, no. The hotel is right there, put your sweater down.”
“Get in! We get to cuddle and be warm together!”
“There’s no way I’m doing that, we’ll be banned from the hotel for disturbing other guests and staff, let’s just get to the room and I’ll let you tuck me in.”
“Are you sure you don’t want in? It’s nice and cozy...”
“It’s a definite and hard no, now let’s get inside and I’m going to show you how to use the weather app before I get into revoking your spontaneous vacation planning.”
