Aha i get it. So Hak orders mundok and the wind tribe to except Soo wans reign, not fight back and make peace to keep the tribe safe. Orders the wind tribe in the xing arc to not fight back or use any form of violence no matter what the Xing soldiers do. Helps the fire tribe in the Tully arc despite what they did to the wind tribe. Orders the soldiers not to hurt innocent civilians during the war. Keeps his  composure and puts his loved ones before himself when coming to the castle despite being treated like garbage. actually and genuinely still cares for Soo wan despite his betrayal that forced him to leave his name, family and home to live like a fugitive and hurt one of the dearest people to his heart. 

While in the other hand so far Soo wan chose to kill king Il instead of finding a better way, the Genius that he is. Chooses war in the Xing arc without even considering talking it out first. Not to mention being ok with what his father did with the excuse “this kinda thing happens in war”. Allows the advisor to threaten yona and the dragons with hunting them down not to mention other bullshit he allows him to do. Chooses to kill Mei without any kind of hesitation.

And in the end it turn out that Haks only language is violence. Hak only knows how to act with rage. Hak has no control over his feeling, specially his anger. And has no development what so ever... 🤔🤔 aha makes allot of sense.

Yona did have numerous strokes of luck by Minsu not being dead and overhearing crucial plans at a convenient time, Ogi being like “welp, Suwon’s cute but I can’t forgive him for this, oh wellll”, having her carriage stopped in the exact spot she needed to be at, and having Lili right there to back her up immediately. 

On the other hand, the success she had in the Fire Tribe with Tae-Jun was something she drove herself and succeeded with using her own existing connections and influence. Guessing what Suwon would do if the Sky forces were hindered because of that was also a product of her own wit. She also used her words to try and talk sense into Suwon, and she managed to do that. I think had Gobi not have been introduced, we could have seen more of Yona’s influence over Kouren as she would’ve tried to snap her out of her desperation after coming back alive AND with a promise for a talk rather than a battle. I know using words is way more boring than a battle, but they have power still.

I feel like the introduction of Gobi did Yona a disservice, basically.

I'm talking to @likestoimagine16 about our mutual disgust at Priest Gobi and we finally nailed down why we're so much more interested in seeing him destroyed than any other villain so far:

Gobi's lawful evil

He's the type of person who perverts institutions and laws and beliefs until they're twisted enough to support his own gains. He goes on crusades that tear down people and burn everything in its path and calls it righteous

Kumji was awful. There was never a doubt for it. Strangers knew it, townspeople knew it, his mercenaries knew it, *Kumji* knew it. There was never any dress up/cover up for how awful he was and we the readers were immediately plunged into the act of people taking him down

Gobi's different tho. Gobi tricks people into believing his lies, twists Tao's conviction to save her country and its people into a weapon that claws the country to shreds inside out, abuse the laws and people's worries. He can't just die, he has to be dismantled and destroyed because he's indoctrinated people into his lies

Most of us haven't dealt with Kumjis. Most of us haven't faced people who revel and flaunt their villainy, people who are so obviously and clearly awful to everyone

But all of us have Gobi's in our way. People who twist and pervert the institutions meant to help us into obstacles and hardships for their own gain. People who aren't Blatantly Evil because they have supports or laws or faiths behind them

and it hits just a little too close to home

The Xing arc has had a number of things that made me go "why even bring it up of nothing's going to come of it?" The most prominent in my mind right now is Mizari talking about cannibalizing the dragons. Is that going to be a thing?

I want to know Mizari's backstory and where his devotion to Kouren stems from.

Things that still need to happen before this arc ends:

Mizari witnessing Zeno’s powers again

Kouren witnessing Yona shoot again

Suwon usually uses the “wait for them to make the first move and then take action” excuse to attack. If Kouren still advances war prep but holds back on attacking, the excuse will not unfold. So if development happens the same way it always does, Suwon either has to make it happen or he has to find even the smallest excuse to advance. The dragons are still citizens of Kouka, but would his pride allow him to use the dragons as the excuse? He did say he had no need for them.
