one of these days I’m going to get absolutely FLAMED for being a fan of Polaris x Havok… I’ll post about their relationship, why I like it, how I’ve rewritten it, and how I’ve rewritten Lorna entirely. (I’ve yet to rewrite Alex, but I have notes on him).

★ Hank McCoy / Beast Head-Canons ( from my AU ) !

☆ I am a firm believer that Hank is an amazing trans allegory! I write him to be a trans man who’s always passed easily, even before any surgery. He snuck onto man-only football teams, he had his deadname deleted from his university’s records, etc. ☆ Hank has a specific order for EVERYTHING. He has techniques, and he always finds a way to make things “make sense” through correlation and patterns. He likes writing his dates year - month - day, “strongest to weakest” ☆ He has no concept of timing or sensitivity, and will say the rudest or most insensitive shit at the worst time, to the point that other characters shut him up during serious times. ☆ Hank used to leave his house as a teen to sit in the grass at night, redrawing the night sky and logging the changes from the night before. ☆ Charles gifted him two things when he joined the team. Firstly, he got rid of old records that listed Hank’s deadname, and secondly he let him have the lab that his late father used to work in, including a telescope for him to log his night time changes! ☆ Hank is a master at tea. He has a formula for it all.

ᘏ 𓈒 🦢 Head-Canons from my X-Men AU; teenage!Jean (+ Charles) ( For context, Jean moved in with Charles years before the school. They develop a close bond long before the other four come into the picture. These HCs are 1996-2000 C.E. )

✰ She hates vanilla scents/flavors, "too sweet, too bland", much preferring fruit flavors and scents.

✰ They both have the worst poker faces and had to train each other to hide their weird expressions.

✰ Jean was into true crime, and Charles only enjoyed fiction, so they compromised by reading stuff like Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie books.

✰ Jean has a perfume collection (that Charles keeps feeding because he doesn't know what to do with a teenage girl; it works, she likes the gifts).

✰ Charles found most kids' shows endearing, but Jean was very particular. She watched Cartoon Network and hated everything on Nickelodeon (+ Teletubbies).

✰ Charles sucked at feeding himself while living alone (before the school), so Jean kept introducing him to breakfast foods. They went from cereal ALL DAY to every breakfast food under the sun all day. They live off breakfast food for a year until she learns how to cook.

✰ They both like natural sour sweets! She likes sherbet, and he introduced her to frozen yogurt (she knew what it was but never tried it), and it works because they both like fruit. Jean likes strawberries, lemons, and mangoes; Charles likes SOUR (unripe) mangoes, grapefruit, green apples.

✰ She often asked him what-if questions like "what would you do if you met a genie?", which Charles always answered whimsically. He knows she wants a silly answer, so it takes a minute to conjure one, since he wasn't too creative with those topics.

✰ Jean is a very stubborn teen, but Charles somehow gets her to try things. It baffled her parents and older sister whenever they'd visit and see her doing things she used to despise.

✰ Charles never slept before her. He needed her to be asleep before he could relax, not out of worry, but because he generally cannot sleep if he can hear thoughts nearby.

✰ They both hate the overextravagant rich people who enjoy things like caviar. Charles refused anything of the sort since childhood, and Jean took one look at the concepts and refused.

✰ Jean loves taking naps in chairs, so she often sits in the chair across his desk while he works. Charles tends to dim the lights for her, even if it messes with his work. He tells her it's fine because: "That is what the reading glasses are for, my dear."

✰ (Yes, he calls her 'my dear'. Yes, I'm spreading Charles & Jean father-daughter propaganda. Yes, they had better potential than the other students with Charles. No, you cannot fight me.)

✰ They often put on ballet plays in the background of their telepathy practice sessions. Jean loves the costuming, but Charles prefers the stories and their effects on the characters' psyches.

✰ The mansion was ALWAYS dark at night (while Charles was alone, since it made the place feel emptier, allowing him to relax faster), so Jean bought hand-held candles, and now they walk around like this:

Let’s talk codenames. I’ve changed many codenames for my AU, and most of them were a statement. I hate a lot of the recycled codenames, so I had to do some characters justice. I’ll also talk about some codenames I love, and how I enhanced them.

Don’t be fooled by the image, Betsy Braddock’s code name is not Captain Britain! I gave her the name Reverie, something that is just her. Not Brian, not Kwannon, Betsy. I wanted something to capture the powers of illusion that my version has.

Have you ever thought that Rachel Summers looks like a tiger? Meet Tigerclaw. I chose that because it captures the spirit I gave her and her looks.

Just Marvel Woman, please. No Phoenix Force responsibilities, just our telepathic wonder, all grown up!

Meltdown was cute, Boomer was weird, let’s stick to Boom-Boom. My Tabby struggles with an inferiority complex that she hides behind bravado. Boom-Boom was chosen to invoke her humorous persona.

I don’t love many things more than I love Hope Summers. I call her Helix, representing the endless spinning of mutant DNA that intertwined and interacts.

Moira Kinross. It’s not a code name, but she should be allowed freedom from her horrid husband’s surname. Fuck Joe MacTaggert. Oh, also, call her the Ambassador X. Thank you.

For now, those are all I’d like to mention. Notice how it’s all women? The men get the best canonical codenames… s e x i s m (/j).

Grey, Braddock, Madrox.

I generally consider myself to be open minded about the X-Men and all mutant characters, but there are three characters who I hate. Only one of these is debatable.

First, FUCK Nate Grey. I mention him too much, he is my malicious Roman Empire. I cannot stress it enough, I despise him. I tried to give him a chance but I’m can’t find a single reason to like him.

Second, Jamie Braddock. He’s whiny and he’s lazy and he pisses me off. He’s overpowered for no reason and as I type this I forget why I hate him… I used to mix him up with the last bitch, so there’s that..

Finally, the last and one with possibly the longest list of sins, Jamie Madrox. I hate that man. I hate him. He’s rude, he’s incompetent, he’s judgmental, he doesn’t understand commitment, and he’s unfortunately important to the plot. The thing I hate most about him is the absolute bullshit he pulled on Monet and Siryn. The ladies of X-Factor are my darling girls and I will not tolerate that disrespect, especially when he KILLED SIRYN’S SON??? I don’t care that it was an accident, poor Sean Jr. shouldn’t have been born into the first place. Terry had finally recovered from her depression and her addiction, and he killed her son (whom she named after her father to symbolize her acceptance that Banshee was dead!) then fled. I understand that he didn’t mean to, but it still happened and I won’t tolerate it.

Now, within the context of my AU? I have to be open minded because I refuse to retcon or butcher character just because of my bias. Take Rachel Summers for an example. I used to HATE her, but in my research I began to adore her! I only researched her so that I could find a way to rewrite her, but she found her way into my heart. Now, I’m slowly beginning to tolerate Jamie Braddock’s whiny ass, but Nate and Madrox aren’t getting any love. I will make a post about WHY I chose to retcon Nate Grey, because he and one other character (Amelia Vought..cough) are the only major characters who I genuinely refused to write. However, both Braddock and Madrox will not be retconned, because as much as I hate them as people and characters, they are important to the plot…

Anyway, remember kids, Nate Grey is the worst thing to ever exist and I hate him so much!! Goodbye!
