Castiel stared in open mouthed awe when Claire walked into the living room, dressed to the nines in an absolutely gorgeous dress. And for a couple minutes, he was speechless, unable to think of anything he could say. He always thought she was beautiful and she left him speechless plenty of other times, but somehow, this was different.

But he's her dad and she's his Bug. They're watching some stupid movie with a stupid plot full of stupid characters, and she puts her head on his shoulder like she's still a little girl and everything is right in the world. for a moment, for this small moment, it is.

"This is stupid," she says, settling against him more comfortably. "let's watch The Little Mermaid."
