You don’t specify which of my works you’d like to see director’s commentary on, so here’s a paragraph I happened to have on hand, about one of last week's cartoons, because I anticipated I might be asked why I put Captain Jack in the contemporary TARDIS: I read somewhere that Jack's going to break the Doctor out of the Judoon prison. It may have just been speculation, but in this gag I needed the Doctor to be talking to someone, and I wanted to imply present or near-future chronology, and I didn't feel like drawing three more figures that day or like copy-pasting them instead of drawing. So, Jack. EDIT Then later after the unsavory revelations about John Barrowman I decided not to have Jack in it after all so I replaced him with Yaz.

For the Fanfiction reader asks meme: #23 What do you wish more fic authors would do? Cheers!

I know it seems really simple but I wish more fanfic authors used proper spacing between paragraphs. I look at a wall of text and immediately nope out. Even when I know the author has good ideas and I’m interested in the story, I just can’t overcome it. 

I also wish they had more confidence! Nothing kills interest in a story for me faster than saying it sucks or the summary sucks. and it’s sad when someone compares stats with other authors and get down from it. 

I also wish that those authors who write massive crossovers or drabble series didn’t fucking tag every fandom in the story. But alas, I don’t see that one ever happening.

I can definitely see two layers. Are the nuts rising to the top to form the third, or do you think there's more separation yet to come.

I can’t tell yet. That’s the Mexican Coke one; the Diet Coke one definitely has the nuts floating between the two, but I’m not sure the Diet Coke one is going to set properly.

Is the cream cheese usually orange, or is that coloring from the jello?

Oh god no. That’s the jello. Cream cheese is white, even in America, land of Unnecessarily Artificial Coloring.

Honestly I have all kinds of props for the two people standing there who just let an owl fly at them at full speed. I can’t promise I wouldn’t flinch.

I'm not even watching GO, but I'm on Tumblr and I can't know the context but I've definitely seen photos of Tenant with his wings clipped on the right hand primaries. So he's not flying like that.

Oh super interesting! I don’t know enough about birds/anatomy to know that his wing looks clipped, I wonder if that’s just the design they decided to use or if it was done on purpose.

Lucifer Catch Up

Yee-hah, here comes season 2 of the first show in a long time to be better than I expected.

I’m loving this logic puzzle set up in season 2. 

Chloe has a vial of the Devil’s blood. She thinks it belongs to a devil-may-care charlatan or crazy person. She keeps it as a threat like: please just tell me the truth and stop playing around. I don’t want to believe that you believe this. Like, best case scenario, I test this blood and you ridicule the shit out of me for believing you might be what you say even though I DON’T, I’m just tired of the joke. At worst, you really do believe it and when your blood comes up normal we both find out at the same time that you’re sick. Please, just tell me and don’t push me to do this.

Lucifer: This is an amazing opportunity. I’m not allowed to reveal the divine to a mortal. That’s a rule even I’m afraid to break because I’m afraid of the consequences, for myself but mostly for the humans because turns out I like them a lot. But if I just...don’t stop it, it’s not really my fault. And I can be honest with you. Which completely terrifies me because I’m terrifying and I’ll probably lose you forever when you find out. Even though I’m not terrifying. That’s just my reputation. I’m actually, right now, the person I’ve always been and it breaks my heart to think that when you find out I’m the Devil, you’ll believe everything has ever said about me instead of what you know about me. And like eveyone else, you’ll blame everything bad that’s ever happened on me. And that would end me. Because I had hope. A hope in Hell, hah. 

 So test the damn blood and please do it fast because I’m going to chicken out pretty soon. And I’m counting on you to be the only mortal in the history of humanity that can actually handle proof of the divine without it leading to a cataclysm like the last time I revealed myself to human in full truth and they Fell from fucking Eden and blamed me for it forever. Which is insane, Why is it I think you’re better and stronger than every other human? Welp, let’s not think too hard about that because it’s probably the answer to everything and that feels way too much like a Plan and I don’t know whether to hope or hate that loving you would probably be my gate back to Heaven and I’d have to choose.
