This is after she started a women's support organization that is trans exclusionary, outraged that another org is being run by a trans woman. I used to use Google docs, but the white mode only was really annoying me (tires my eyes), so I swapped to Ellipsus (which I genuinely love and recommend), but it was bothering me a bit that I need wifi in order to use it, so now I switched to LibreOffice Writer, which I do like.

It very much has a Microsoft Word feel, but is open source and you need no accounts to use it. It's local on your device, so no AI can scan it, and no wifi is needed.

I still wish it had the Google Docs cards, because, bitch, that thing is so good for easy organizing.

#scrivener is best for drafting & organizing all the research in one place. for academic work it's unparalleled.#formatting with it is shit though. you need literally any other program #i have a microsoft word license so i use that for formatting and final editing stuff.#unfortunately word is standard for everybody but libreoffice pages etc will all convert seamlessly so i will never buy it myself #google docs i use all the time for work. as a writing tool it's mid. but it's unbeatable if you are collaborating with others.#i've never heard of ellipsus before and surprised to see 20% of people use it

I want you to understand this. I NEED you to understand this. My mother read me the hobbit as bedtime story, and I started pushing myself to read before pre-school so I could in fact read the hobbit for myself instead of having to wait for bedtime.

I didn't do so right away but jesus wept I PUSHED myself to learn to read SPECIFICALLY so I could read The Hobbit! It is, in fact, a children's story! And children only see page count as 'there is a lot of this fun story to read!'

My father in law bought 6 or 7 boxes of the Selena Gomez Oreos so he could set a Selena Gomez Oreo alarm to go off mid workday and then say to his coworkers, "Oh, my Selena Gomez Oreo alarm is going off!" and unearth from his locker his 6 or 7 boxes of Selena Gomez Oreos so he and his coworkers could distribute them around the neonatal ICU ward where they work.
