A historic meeting place for NYC's underground...one of many magical East Village spots that seem to all be quickly disappearing. The powers that be claim the "health department" is to blame. After all the jobs I've worked in NYC, I know that it's pretty difficult to actually be busted by the DOH, especially for such an established place. This reeks of real estate condos and J.P. Morgan. I think this is just another example of how dangerous buy-outs and gentrification are to Manhattan and Brooklyn. Watch out Queens, you're next.
