So, I work at an elementary school (I'm the librarian) and since I live only some 4 blocks from the school, I usually walk to work.
Today was the last day before a week off for spring break, and it was snowing heavily this morning (Yay Canada), so when I got into the school the snow that had piled up on me during the walk all immediately started to melt.
The little kids in Grade 2 (I come in through an entrance near the Grade 2 wing) were literally asking me "What happened to you???" because I was sopping wet.
Once they were sure I was ok, they started laughing.
"You look like you just got out of the shower!"
"You look like someone pushed you into the snow!"
^ The view from my living room this afternoon. lmao
gonna get extra cute today and go to the cafe with my friend <3
Got my sewing machine serviced and am going to have a go at making some modern clothes for the first time in a while. (Usually I'm making medieval/tudor clothes).
Found this gorgeous red floral fabric and think I'm gonna make a pleated skirt out of it. I might need to find a stiff lining fabric tho, because this came out softer after washing than I'd hoped.
Okay so in Dutch there’s an expression for that odd almost sort of bouncy feel you get in the beginning of spring, when the birds are loudly proclaiming their horniness and all the blossoms be blooming: “kolder in de kop”.
“Kolder” translates mostly as whimsy or nonsense and though it doesn’t pack the same punch, “spring gives me whimsical nonsense brain” does kind of do the trick?
me when i remember my depression’s only seasonal and that season is over and the grass is green again and it’s not cold anymore and i love my friends and the flowers are growing and my job is fun and the sky is clear and i feel alive again
