I spent about 45 minutes last night going through 2 of these boxes and separating the marshmallows so that i could eat them as snacks. i apparently forgot that other people eat lucky charms and do in fact enjoy the marshmallows. my brother (also adhd) spent a good 5 minutes freaking out about the fact he couldn’t find the marshmallows. he is 21. i’m praying he doesn’t find out what i did😳😅
Tfw you end a hard Monday by discovering your Sunday night meds still in the pill pack. Like, ah. Explains a lot.
Today in YayDHD:
I have kept a lidded jar of York patty chocolates for three years, refilling as needed, but then I came home from vacation and put the souvenir chocolate in a clear jar. When I had finished those, I not only forgot that I had the York patties, but I forgot the concept existed, I guess? I kept wishing I had something softer than the chocolate cookies I usually get, but still small, maybe minty... The entire time, the jar of York patties was right there on the counter. Right there! But I could not see them and therefore the entire premise was gone for a month until today I saw the jar from a different angle and realized what was in it.
This is what I mean by memory problems. I didn't forget what a York patty was if someone had mentioned it, or even if they asked, I would have been able to tell them what was in the jar, and I didn't forget how to open it or anything. It just doesn't occur to me to remember them without a prompt.
What my neurodivergent brain needs: a full day of just laying on the floor and/or staring at a wall
What my stomach needs: me to get up and cook dinner
What the rest of my body needs: sunshine and a walk
What my bank account and employers need: me to do my work
What I'm doing instead:
My brain did not let me write tonight
Find this for me.
I want a tag where people with ADD/ADHD can share stupid things they do that relate to their neurotype... Here we have: YayDHD
I just want a jar of Blue Dream that never runs out.
