okay Thoughts time. mostly crit.. sory. spoilers for eps 3 and 4

pacing. felt so rushed. i feel like alastor quitting could have happened at the end of ep 4 and then dedicated ep 5...? it feels a lot like were. Heh. speedrunning these parts which are kind of buildup to what happens next. it all felt very topical and shallow

radiostatic backstory: im glad they didnt go the (explicit) romance rejection angle. they were on thin ice with it all and im glad they chose the safer route. that said. it felt flat. i think theres more going on that we dont know yet and might explain it (re. alastors reaction) but. also? i dunno if i fw the way they portrayed vox... hes pathetic yes but i dont think they needed to do it in such a. uwu baby way? it just. doesnt sit right. and yeah people can change and have dramatic personality shifts but theyre going to have to work hard on selling me this one. how does that become what we see now?

radiostatic now. i did enjoy the vees alastor theories that i saw recently but. god i do not like how it went down. i do not like it! i am very specific about my flavour of radiostatic and this is everything i hate. i have many thoughts about this i might talk about later or never. and it borders on being ick. which. i get it! the vees are villains and im not saying that vox cant be like this. but i am saying that personally i dont like it. wish it had gone down differently ! i will now live in radiostatic copium land for the foreseeable future

charlie. ohhhh my god. charlie i love you. but charlie. charlie no. white boy ive never seen anyone fuck it up like that. i understand her motivations (lilith, pentious, her desire to do good and be good. daddy issues. its a warrented breakdown) BUT. i dont think i like the way it was done. feels kind of like character regression but done badly

angel & husk. okay so im mostly neutral on huskerdust. i. have thoughts on angel im not really up for getting into right now becasue eepy. i think. these eps did them dirty? and. hm

alastor. WHAT THE FUUUUCK. honestly. i am neutral on alastor and a little bit of a hater. @/kenntheroach666 said it best in their post- the show set him up to be kind of mysterious and such. and thats half the appeal of his character? but then they take that away? he lost a lot of credibility and he now feels like. some YA poor little meow meow. i dunno. i have a lot of thoughts about alastor as the Favourite Child of the series and fandom. it looks like alastor and it talks like alastor but it doesnt behave like one and its very sudden. and this is also where pacing comes in. we should have had more buildup to him quitting. we had like 1 scene of him in eps 1 and 2 leading up to it and it was pretty subtextual. blink and you miss it

rosie reveal. kind of weak to me. i never really subscribed to any theories but i did see a lot of lilith ones and personally i think i prefer that over this? i think it would have been better if rosie and alastor were just. best buds.. also there was nothing leading up to it. no foreshadowing or hints or anything. its very. hm

the bright side: the songs are great. they sound great. theyre a little nothingburger to me content wise but i like listening to them. i liked the vox and velvette interactions. i liked the fight that was very fun to watch. i liked all the silly vox expressions we got. the 360 neck crack. we also got a split second of veet

anyways i think it was just. eps 1 and 2 came on very strong and then we got these which felt like a step backwards and also a punch to the face for good measure? im going to go into the next eps with slightly lowered expectations and im not going to take myself out of the ring just yet
