YEAH!

I was super into TJCL, I used to watch this girl make videos talk about all the theories, and then I would discuss them with these two irl friends from high school. We had big expectations.

One of my friends was so confident in it that she made a bet with another friend (who was, of course, not into the conspiracy) that they would kiss at the end. We were all so sure. I would infodump on my poor mother about it, giving her all the details like how the score matched certain things, or why this one thirty-second scene was actually really important. I even got my neighbor (who’s around my mom’s age) to believe me and she also stayed up to watch The Kiss.

Then uhh,,, that thing that we call season four happened and yeah, kind of fell off after that. I remember thinking that yeah, there were a lot of incongruences, just so many things that made no sense or that were frankly rookie mistakes, but Mofftiss wouldn’t do that. We knew they had a plan, we were waiting for something more. 

As you know, that something more ended up coming in the form of Sherlock’s childhood dog actually being a coping mechanism for when Sherlock’s friend got murdered by his sister. And him not realizing something as simple as there not being a glass wall between them, or John being chained to the bottom of this old water well one second and being free the next with no explanation whatsoever, and I-

Listen you know what happened, I don’t need to explain to you just how disappointing that was. We all stayed up till 2 am watching the show and when we got to school the next day we gathered around and my friend who had made the bet just said, “I’d say you won but I don’t think anyone won last night.”

I remember even reading theories about the secret episode and just hoping it would happen. Finding specific dates on billboards displayed during the last episode, stuff like that, I think after like two weeks it really dawned on me that this was actually real and that there was no secret episode. 

Looking back yeah, I can clearly see why it just wasn’t meant to be, but back then I really believed it would happen, it just made so much sense! But yeah, the show’s kind of ruined for me now ngl, I can’t really watch it anymore, even without watching season four, I just can’t watch it without being just so upset about how they ruined something so dear to my heart.
