pop psyc and culture articles just LOVE to frame things like this, “why we singles hate happy couples!” as if this speaks for everyone and not just the (probably narcissistic) annoying as fuck click-bait author (and they would come off as way less annoying and way more relatable if the writing didn’t sound so god damn obviously DESPERATE for a relationship (as proxy for just like...attention...idk it comes off as obvious to me that this is whats going on.) But whatever they’re on about, that’s not true for me.  I don’t mind couples that seem happy, what annoys me are the unhappy ones.  Here I am, just doing my own existence and the fucking dishes all by myself with nobody to fuck or blame, nobodies god damn emotional problems to distract me from my own. Here I am, entertaining myself night after night just listening to silence punctuated with the faint banshee wail of loneliness coming through the walls, and the consistent ticking of time and my own old age creeping up on my sexless and cuddle-free husk of a life. And you know what? I still know that this is better then sharing everything with someone who’s not perfect for me. So why the fuck are so many people who are less then happy with their person..like even with them? They could be experiencing the void with me, they could be grabbing the existential freedom bull by the balls and giving their own lives meaning WITHOUT cheating by making it about someone else(side-eying husbands, you too babies), but no, instead they would rather just complain about Kyle WHILE STAYING WITH HIM ANYWAY? yeah so those same articles or whatever will say things like “more people are staying single” but honestly I’ve always been baffled that there are as many couples as there are when there really don’t have to be.  but I’m the weird one, sure.

again i don’t hate happy couples i’m just mad at unhappy couples that could just try being single, along with unhappy singles that could just try to deal with themselves and drink that bitterness like delicious coffee every morning instead of being mad at happy couples.
