Absolutely! They’re being very eloquent. & a huge thing currently irking (ha. ha. ha.) me, is that people outside the fandom are spinning this + the Jim Beaver thing as ‘crazy, entitled fangirls attacking the cast’. And I saw the Jim Beaver thing before he deleted and basically NOBODY was attacking him right up until he said ‘weren’t you happy with what you got?’ (at which point he probably got a few rancid tweets, but rapidly deleted.) ...and clearly he, Misha, and the writers don’t understand the problem - but the point is that the reactions were, in the main, very considerate. So it’s frustrating that this is being used as further leverage against the ‘toxic destiel shippers’ by places like reddit. I know that place is as much an echo chamber as we are, but it’s sadly a place most people will refer to as having the ‘rational’ response (which is... sexist, among other things, but that’s another conversation entirely.) Anyway, I think the people discussing it on twitter are hyper aware that they need to not fuck up here because - much like how women in power can’t afford to lose their temper at people - we have a higher burden of proof in order to not be called crazy for our beliefs. Sucks!
