this is a bit of a stretch but hear me out

So, at first listen, it's a happy love song, right? But if you look at the way the bridge transitions to the verse...

What if there isn't a full stop after "pretend," and we've just assumed there is because of the way that it picks up? What if it's more of a "Nothing's complicated if we pretend that everything is okay." What if that came as a realization later on in the relationship that they seemed a lot happier together then they really were, and that's why it comes later in the song?

Even in the happier Entertainment songs, there's some little things that can be interpreted to reflect a bad relationship (and also some Double Dare songs?? maybe I'll make a post on all the ones I've noticed because there's a lot).

listen, i’m not saying that Aws and C****’s relationship was toxic but since the breakup Aws seems to be hanging out with friends more and he’s gained good weight (mostly muscle but a bit of fat we love a HEALTHY boy) he’s taken on new projects he’s dyed his hair different he seems to have been more productive he’s started going to therapy and possibly started medication and basically i’m saying C**** was toxic as fuck and holding him back.
