From my stories: a beautiful egg shell I found in the grass on our walk this morning. I left it where I found it and came home to do some research and find out it is the empty egg of a Yellow Hammer. (swipe left to see). Whilst I do see these birds quite regularly sitting on top of the hedgerows around the fields, I learnt today that it is on the red list of endangered birds here in the UK. Red is the highest conservation priority, with species needing urgent action.
