I can’t remember where I read it but somewhere in some sort of official zelda media it says the zora in botw are particularly dolphin-like. This of course, begs the question of whether they’re actually mammals or not. It seems like they could be, though I guess scales aren’t much of a mammal kind of thing. I assume botw Zora still lay eggs like in past games (I haven’t played botw in a hot minute so I don’t know if any dialogue suggests this or not), but I suppose they could still be mammals and lay eggs, like platypuses. Of course that also brings up the question on whether they sweat milk but now that I’m thinking about it maybe I’d better just assume they’re amphibians for everyone’s peace of mind
