Kalafina “covers” to be performed at YKL

Yuki just made it official. She had already talked about it in the latest FJS newsletter (read my translation HERE) but now she has also announced it on her Twitter Account. 

From now onwards Kalafina’s songs will be covered in YK Lives alongside other self-covers. Those covers will make up a small section of the lives. Keiko and Hikaru (as well as the other utahimes) will be there to sing those covers but it will be different from the Kalafina we know so please don’t think of it as “Kalafina”. Yuki is very happy to finally perform all these songs because they mean a lot to her.

Hikaru’s comment: I am getting the chance to perform Kalafina covers at the YKL together with Keiko-san, the other amazing singer, the front band members and Yuki Kajiura-san who put her heart and soul into creating Kalafina’s songs. While feeling the unique charm of Kalafina’s music, I will sing with all my might so I can experience that charm together with all of you.

the ticket for YKL#20 in KL is expensive I'm gonna cryyy. the one in Bangkok is significantly cheaper but it's on a Friday...

tbh it might seem not as expensive to Westerners but I live in a country whose currency is basically worthless lmao. the cheapest ticket is already 15-20% of my monthly salary and by my country's standard i am a middle class citizen lmao. now that's not too bad but i have to account for the flight tickets as well. i can afford it, but idk if i really wanted to bcs no Kaori and not a big fan of Joelle/Leia

On Saturday night, we said our final goodbye to The Rooster, one of the original bars that opened on Yong Kang Lu here in Shanghai. Although I’m a new resident to this city, I’d visited “The Roo” on almost every visit prior to our move, even guest-bartending there one night. Owner John Cox welcomed us all in to “drink the place dry” and poured us one final round of shots late in the evening... Fireballs as they’d already run out of Jäger!

At least we still have The Rooster 2, aka “The New Roo”, in Jing An!

Thanks for four years of many faded memories, John!
