Starting A Home Yoga Practice
It's Wednesday...We're half way there!
Yesterday I didn't find time for my own workout in between clients and classes so I had to roll out my mat and sit myself in front of my TV. Yes, I did my Yoga DVD!
Starting a home yoga practice is very different than practicing in studio with a teacher and several other people around you doing the same poses. It can take a little more dedication because no one is pushing you, but at the same time, you don't have to step foot out the door. You can wake up and get in some early yoga stretching or practice when you get home from work as a nice way to settle in before dinner and start your evening.
Some basic poses you can start with if you don't have a yoga DVD or don't want to look up a class online or on YouTube:

I wrote this article for Brentwood Focus Magazine and talked about items you need to start an at-home-practice and how when I first started yoga, I hated it! Crazy, right?!
Starting a yoga practice at home could be one of your favorite times of the day. Just for you. Maybe your daughter joins you. Maybe your dog joins you (mine does!). It really can be a time to slow down after a long day, which could be the perfect tool to help you deal with stress, anxiety, negativity or whatever it is in your way!
Hope this helps and feel free to comment any questions or concerns if you have them!
