Daily movement 🌸 . I have found that keeping a routine has been super important thru all of this. I am still going to bed at my regular time, sleeping in a little later than usual, but that extra 45-60min of sleep is doing wonders for my mental emotional state. . My routine consists of but not limited to: • wake up around 6-7am • coffee + tea • juicing/smoothie • morning Hamlet walk + breakfast (if I’m honest, @johnk.demata has been doing more of the Hamlet walks 🤣) • harmonium practice • moving my body in the late morning/early afternoon via walks/yoga • creative activity/reading • currently watching: @lacasadepapel @netflix • consistent + rigorous snuggles @hammyjenkins 🤣 • some form of meditation/breath work peppered in • bedtime: 9-10pm • Take long walks, deep breaths and practice surrendering, repeat 🖤 . . . . . . . . . . #yoga #yogawithpeanut #meditation #yogaoffthemat #movefromtheheart #quarantineandchill #stayathome #movement #homeworkout #workout #stretch #movementismedicine (at Neptune City, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-crhKWDafM/?igshid=p6zawmbfhrmc

#throwback to #dominicanrepublic last May 😍🖤😎🌊🌴 . Note to self: Make taking breaks a priority. Which I will be doing at the end of this week! 🥳🥳🥳 . My justifications + excuses for not taking days off in no particular order: 🚫Insert feelings of guilt, shame, unworthiness, etc... 🚫Even tho you work a full week’s worth of hours, you’re only in the office three days a week. 🚫You can’t afford to take time off. 🚫Taking time off will cause more stress, especially financially. 🚫You don’t deserve time off. 🚫I can’t leave @hammyjenkins behind. What if something happens to him? What if he misses me? . This isn’t new. When I was in elementary and middle school, I was the kid who received homework passes but never used them because I was afraid I’d fall behind and miss out on learning something. In the past I have used my anxiety over packing, driving and airports to prevent me from traveling, when in reality, getting out of town for a few days decreases my stress and anxiety. I realize that traveling is not possible for everyone. Even taking a day off might be detrimental to someone’s financial stability. I am fortunate enough to have the ability to move my schedule around so that I don’t miss that day of work. If you have the time and the means to do so, take advantage! I have run myself into the ground over the years, making myself sick and on some level, felt proud of myself for doing so. “Look at me. I worked so hard that I triggered symptoms from chronic illness that may or may not have surfaced if I had taken better care of myself” 🤣😫 . PLEASE READ for a good cause 🥰🥰🥰 . This past Sunday wrapped up the final day of training for the group I’m volunteering with.⁣ The organization is called Common Ground and they are located in Manasquan, NJ. The program is focused on children, tweens and young adults who have lost a sibling or a parent.⁣ Thru play therapy and group discussion, the participants are able to share their experiences with peers that can understand what they are moving thru.⁣ Such a loving group of people, and what a privilege it will be to hold space for these children in the coming months.⁣ The magic that happens when people come together and share their experiences, stories, vulnerabilities and hearts, is profound.⁣ It was definitely two weeks of triggers and tears, but also of letting go and healing some of my own wounds.⁣ When we share our hearts, it give others permission to share.⁣ Losing a parent or a sibling, especially at a young age, is the club that none of us ever want to be in, but sometimes find ourselves. I am so grateful to be a part of this. Being in service of others is when our own light shines the brightest.⁣ . Day 4 #stretchandreflect - Twist - Marichyasana D . What new practice did you cultivate this year? . I began shifting the way I speak to myself. In shifting the way I spoke to myself, I found more kindness and compassion towards others. I practiced non-judgement. Letting go of expectations. Practicing non-attachment (like rn when I had this whole thing written up and accidentally erased it 😂😭🤷🏻‍♀️). I practiced allowing myself to be in my feelings rather than fighting them. . Day 3 #stretchandreflect - Backbend - Urdhva Mukha Svanasana - Upward facing dog . What was the biggest personal change? . I saw a huge shift in the way I experienced relationships. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I realized the value of my time + those who were worth it. Namely, Me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I fell in love with myself, for possibly the first time ever in this life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I realize that the relationships that seemed to say “you are unworthy of love” were the vehicles with which I fell in love with me again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I cut all my hair off. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Found the ability to become more vulnerable. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Discovered my heart‘s capacity to break, heal, love.
