Eddie takes a shaky, deep inhale. Then, “I don’t care that you…you can be into guys, Steve. I don’t care about that,” he talks softly, “but I don’t want…I don’t want…” And then he trails. It’s hard to gauge where Eddie’s going. His voice is too quiet, but his hands are too hard. And his posture is wide, but his shoulders are hunched. His eyes are giant and soulful, yet the rest of him is carefully neutral. Like he’s hiding within a lie, a facade, a mask. This is a mask, Steve realizes, it’s all just a ruse. “You’re not mean,” Steve whispers, “why are you being mean to me?” He sniffs. Swallows. Lurches deep in his stomach. He could throw up. He could choke. It’d be the same anyway. “If you don’t want me, then tell me,” he continues at the same volume, “but…but I’m not gonna stop wantin’ you, Eds. Even though you…you could…could break every bone in my body and I’d still find my way back to you.”

They're being low-key toxic, but it's fine. It's all fine.

Ok so I wanted to do this little sketch of Okina just to figure out how I want to draw her face in the future, then took a sketch of her I made without the hat and tabard (is that what that is? IDK) and decided to experiment with a lineless artstyle just for fun. I wanna experiment more with the lineless style as I love how it turned out a lot. It looks closer to the art styles I am inspired by so that's a win in my book. I wanna draw Okina a bit more just to experiment with ideas that I have for how I wanna draw her design because it's really cool.

Chapter 102

Hisashi gains unlikely allies in his struggle. 

I’m gonna drop last two chapters tomorrow, and I recommend y’all prepare yourselves. I considered how I’d do it for so long, even while I was writing out this last arc, trying to think if I could do it some other way. Ultimately, I came to the conclusion I need to go with my original plan so I’ll be able to set up and tell the followup stories I am intending to tell.
