One day...

McGuffin, says something indecipherable: Aster: Uh, wanna run that by me again, mate? Merida: He's looking to purchase that new axe he saw in your wares, he does. Aster: Oh...

Yet another day...

McGuffin, talking frantically: Gobber: I can't understand you, McGuffin! I'd tell ya to calm down but even then, it would be hard to... Merida, patting her husband in the back: Stormfly seems off, and Astrid's staying with her. He wants ya to come over and have a look at the poor girl. Gobber: Why doesn't he just say that? Merida: He did.

One afternoon...

McGuffin, speaking casually yet softly: Astrid: He said... Jamie, hands the man a piece of paper: Yes sir, here's the recipe for that meat pie the other day. McGuffin, humming ecstatically: Astrid, staring at Jamie in wonder: Jamie, looking at her: Oh, sorry. Were you going to say something, Astrid? Merida, smirking and crossing her arms as she leans towards her daughter: Marry that boy. Astrid, blushing: MOM!

Merida trains Jamie in the art of the bow and arrow.

McGuffin wields two axes in battle. Astrid may be able to only carry one, but he trains her in strength so she could at least carry a heavy axe with ease.

Merida and McGuffin both likes Jamie at first glance. When they see him getting closer with their daughter, they also approve but don't meddle unless Astrid comes for advice first.

Jamie doesn't know if he's more intimidated by Merida or McGuffin. Getting older though, he respects them more and find them less intimidating.
