Wez // The Mood Changes
Subtly floating through the room with intentions set on making a connection that you can find comfort in, the debut track from Austin's Wez hits with a particular sense of longing and a touch of anxiety, and it's enough to get by, if even for the night. On "The Mood Changes", Wez doesn't quite wear his heart on his sleeve but it's still somewhat exposed behind smooth layers of delicate movements, glistening synths, and an incredibly hypnotic chorus. The track oozes with a 90's R&B appeal but Wez makes it sound fresh without coming off too strong and that's what sets the project apart from others trying to move at the same beat. With the project just getting started and Wez already playing a few shows, there's no doubt that we'll hear more, but in the meantime leave this on repeat, pour yourself a drink, and maybe you'll find that temporary someone.
