YOUTUBESDAY: I’M BISEXUAL, BUT I’M NOT...

Oh Buzzfeed, how we love you. 

It’s Tuesday and that means that you’re in for another bi video in our YouTubesday slot - run by yours truly; Bella Qvist. This week I’ve picked a new Buzzfeed Yellow video which talks about the many things bisexuals are and are not.

Featuring a bunch of cool people, including YouTube bae Connor Manning, this clip lists a range of things people sometimes accuse bisexuals of being. From greedy to half-gay, they cover a lot of prejudice - and they raise the very important point that we are more than our sexualities. Yes!

YOUTUBESDAY: LABELS AND KITTENS WITH BELLA QVIST

This week’s YouTubesday blog is going to feature a healthy dose of self promotion and I hope you’re ok with that. 

You may be aware that I write the weekly YouTubesday blog posts for DIVA HiBi! and that I every now and again write for the magazine, which we all know is the best mag in the world, obviously. 

This week, however, I have branched out and written for Grazia, a big weekly fashion magazine here in the UK, about labels and the fact I call myself bisexual. 

I say bisexual but pansexual, omnisexual, queer, fluid sexuality… there are many ways in which I feel I could describe my sexuality considering I can find all kinds of people attractive; gender isn’t of importance to me. So do we in this #lovewins day and age need labels at all? 

Well, I argue that we kind of do because we still need to be able to put a name on sexuality when discrimination because of sexuality exists. As much as I’d love a world where no one cares about who you kiss I don’t think we’re there just yet. Having said that I’m all about Cara, Miley and anyone else flying the flag for label-refusal. Go you.

Either way, without repeating myself too much that’s what I’m talking about in Grazia and in my video this week. I also show you my (ever so grumpy) kitten so that’s always a bonus.

YOUTUBESDAY: YOUTUBE-STALKING CARA DELEVINGNE (because why not)

Cara Delevingne comes pretty close to perfection in my book. She’s funny, she’s smart, she’s a super model and an out queer woman whose Instagram profile reads “STOP LABELLING, START LIVING”...not to mention THE EYEBROWS. So you know, she’s pretty much nailed it for me there. Full package. 10/10. Love her.

Considering she recently came out, came out and lots of media outlets decided to take part in a bit of classic bi erasure by labelling her a lesbian, I thought, why not dedicate this week’s DIVA YouTube blog to Cara? She is after all ridiculously good in front of the camera and, believe me, there are plenty of videos to choose from on YouTube. (Not 100% sure why but my gf isn’t  convinced I needed to put this amount of research into it but whatever...) 

So, there you go. Let’s just all take a moment (or ten) to cherish the inner and outer beauty of Ms Cara Delevingne, a woman who is happy to say she gets a female boner thinking about both Angelina Jolie and Brad Bitt. Amen to that!

YOUTUBESDAY: HOW DO I TELL MY DAD I’M BISEXUAL?

One 16-year-old asks advisory panel Ask The Feels about coming out as bisexual to her conservative father - and the answer is anything but straight. 

Should she wait until she’s 18? Until she has moved out? Could her dad just be joking when he’s making homophobic comments? Should she use her parents’ ignorance to her advantage and invite her girlfriend round all the time? Or should she simply put it out there? What do you think?

YOUTUBESDAY: MILEY CYRUS AND TAYLOR SWIFT (OR I’M CELEBRITY CRUSHING SO HARD RIGHT NOW)

It’s been a good week.

You may have seen that Miley Curys has set up the Happy Hippie Foundation, raising money for homeless LGBT youth, and that as part of the project she has been inviting artists to her #BackyardSessions. 

Last week a video of Miley singing “Don’t Dream It’s Over” together with Ariana Grande appeared and not only is it an amazing cover that sends shivers down your spine, it also features some adorable flirting between the two stars. SO friggin cute. And I love the fact that Miley’s all like “yeah, I’m into girls too, so what?”

Less than a week later, Taylor Swift wins (almost) all of the Billboard Awards and  releases the biggest video testimony to female friendship and girl power in pop culture since the Spice Girls. I mean, I’m exaggerating (am I?) but please let’s all take a moment to appreciate the epicness of this video. I mean Lena Dunham, Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding, Cindy Crawford, Hayley Williams and bi/pan/who knows-sexual CARA DELEVINGNE? You’re gonna need a minute to recover from this.

So yes, it’s been a good week in the world of bisexual YouTube. No pressure next week, but you’re going to struggle to top this one.

YOUTUBESDAY: “LESBIANS EXPLAIN: BICURIOUS GIRLS”

Hello everybody! 

It’s YouTubesday, you are reading HiBi, DIVA Magazie’s blog for bisexual identifying women, my name is Bella and I am going to throw a word out there: bicurious. 

The Internet has strong opinions on this word but I want to know; how do you feel about it?

YouTuber Arielle Scarcella asked some of her mates and the video above tells us what they think. Do you agree? What is the difference between bisexual and bicurious girls and what to they want from lesbians? Are women more likely to be bicurious than men? And is there such a thing as a straight woman?

YOUTUBESDAY: BRIA AND CHRISSY – EVERYONE IS BISEXUAL!

This week we’re hanging out in a pool in New York with three of YouTube’s biggest lesbian stars; Bria, Chrissy and Arielle! Try not to get too distracted by the bikinis; these girls have got some interesting things to say...

It’s summer in New York and YouTubers Bria and Chrissy are hanging out with Arielle Scarcella, in a pool, in New York, as you do. As expected they come on to discussing sexuality and in particular fluid sexuality, bisexual stereotypes and whether traumatic experiences make you lesbian and bi or not. They also come to the conclusion that everyone is a bisexual.

Hmm. There may be a lack of rubber ducks in this pool but there are certainly some bold statements floating around. Check it out:

Ariella says: 

“I do believe that there is no 50/50, everyone [likes one gender] a little bit... It’s not like they’re similar... you have to like one of them a little more.”

Chrissy, who says she used to be bisexual, adds:

“The stubble thing, it just doesn’t do it for me.”

And finally Bria concludes:

“I think everyone is bisexual.”
