A/N: This is likely the fluffiest thing I have EVER written in my life. It was written for a friend.
Summery: A lovely quiet evening spent with your love.

Being in love was like something no one could ever properly explain. Being in love with Remus Lupin was so much more than even that.
The nights of his transformations were always hard, on the both of you. You’d done your best to give him the space that he needed during those times, and he couldn’t love you more for it. He always made it up to you when he acted out, or couldn’t control himself during the full moon, or when the two of you would get into arguments, which wasn’t really all that often. You two just seemed to understand exactly the way the other worked.
You and Remus had decided to take an evening stroll after dinner, taking up a bench in the park to watch the sun as it set. You’d had your head nestled into his neck, breathing in his familiar scent as you watched the sky turn from blue, to the most beautiful shades of pink and orange. His arm was around you holding you close. “Beautiful, isn’t it?” You ask him.
“It really is,” He sighed contently. “Almost as beautiful as you.”
Burying your face in your hands, you gave a little bit of an embarrassed laugh. “Stop, you’re making me blush.”
He gently pulled your hands away from your face, pulling you up by the chin to look at him. “I will never stop calling you beautiful.” He pressed the softest kiss to the tip of your nose. “Are you ready to go home? It’s starting to look like rain.”
You nodded simply, taking his hand to lace his fingers with your own, guiding him in the direction of your house. You’d only made it about halfway home when the rain had started to fall from the sky. Smiling mischievously, you looked up at the sky and then over at Remus who knew that smile all too well.
You could help but laugh as you ran for the nearest puddle, stomping around in it. “Come join me, Remus!” You shouted to him. He shook his head, a smile on his face.
Remus ran to you, taking you up into his arms, spinning you in circles as the rain came down around you. It was moments like these that you wished could last forever.
The house was warm, comfortable as you and Remus helped each other out of wet clothes, Remus slipped into his pajamas while you ran a steamy shower for yourself. After you were clean, and pleasantly relaxed, you stepped out of the shower, and wrapped in a towel, made your way into the adjoining master bedroom. Lying on your bed, Remus had laid out your favorite pair of PJ pants, fuzzy socks, and one of his favorite jumpers. A large toothy grin was plastered to your face, Remus always did all of the most perfect things for you.
You’d wandered into the living room after dressing, to find Remus sprawled out on the couch, two mugs of cocoa on the coffee table in front of him. As you came into his peripheral vision he opened his arms wide, offering you a seat in his lap. “I see you found your clothes.” He nuzzled his face into your neck as he held you close to him.
“I did.” You said, placing a kiss on the top of his head. His scent mixed with the smell of the chocolate and the burn of the fireplace, swirling around you blissfully. “I see you made hot chocolate.”
He couldn’t help but smile at you, leaving you near breathless at his beauty. Every feeling you could name, love, happiness, comfort, bliss, along with a few others you couldn’t swirled around inside of you. “I did, extra marshmallows, just how you like. And-” He said, digging behind him. “I picked this up on the way home, I saw you eyeing it yesterday at Flourish and Blotts.”
It was a book you’d been thinking about buying that he pressed into your hands. “Remus!” You gasped. “You shouldn’t have!” Dropping the book into your lap you wrapped your arms around his neck, leaving kisses all over his face.
“I like to do nice things for you, my love.” He laughed under your kisses.
Pulling away you held his face between your hands, looking deep into his green eyes. “Remus, you are too good to me. What have I ever done, what will I ever do to deserve you so much?” You could get lost looking at him this way.
He placed his large warm hands over yours as he stared back at you, his facial expression turned serious. “There is nothing for you to do to deserve the way that I treat you. You have done more than enough, Y/N. You love me through my illness, my bad days, and our bickering. Not once have you ever given up on me nor have you ever not believed in me.” His words filled you with things you couldn’t explain, and you’d nearly had to ask him to stop. “You’re everything to me and I honestly hope that you never think otherwise.”
He reached up to wipe away a tear that you hadn’t even noticed was falling. “I love you, more than anything.”
“And I love you more than that.” He smiled, pulling you in so that he could cuddle you more closely.
“You’re perfect,” You said plainly, “Don’t you dare ever think any less.”
“Maybe you should stay around for a while to remind me.” His voice was soft in your ear, sending tingles from your neck to the bottom of your spine.
You took a second to calm yourself before speaking. “We already live together, love. I don’t really find my being around to be a problem.”
“I’d just like to make sure.” He said, kissing you. “Would you wear something, if I gave it to you?”
You looked at him, eyebrows raised. “I’m already wearing your jumper, I don’t think I could handle anymore gifts.” His smile was suspicious.
“Well I guess in that case, the least you can do is reach into the pocket for me.”
Eyebrows knit together, you eyed him closely as you reached your hand into the pocket of his jumper, fingers wrapping around something small and cold. Pulling it out, you opened your hand to find a simple band, with a small diamond set into it, resting in your palm. You looked back at him, mouth hanging open. “Remus…”
“It was my mothers.” His eyes were steady on you. “Will you?”
Blinking rapidly, you looked from the ring back to Remus, and back to the ring. For a moment it felt as if your chest would burst open from the love swelling inside of you. “Do you mean-”
“I want to be with you until the end of my days, Y/N. I want to marry you. Hell, I’d marry you right here right now.”
Closing your hand around the ring tightly, you held it to your chest, unable to find the right words to say. Instead you pressed your lips to his, over, and over as tears spilt down your face. “I’ve never wanted anything more.”
