Divided by the Blue

One side holds the lingering snow of spring,

Pale blossoms clinging to the reaching bough,

A delicate lace that the gentle breezes swing,

Whispering of a season passing now.

The other wears a coat of vibrant jade,

Leaves drinking deep the gold of morning light,

Where cooling depth and summer dreams are made,

Stealing the crown from blossoms pure and white.

Between them lies the unbroken blue,

A canvas stretched for time to play its part,

Where old beginnings fade into the new,

And nature paints the seasons in my heart.

A map of grey, a ghostly trace,

Written in water and shadows’ grace.

Where the ground is split, a broken face

Of the past’s forgotten, weathered space.

See the tree above in dappled lace,

Casting dreams across this worn-out place.

Ephemeral light, a fleeting chase,

Of what is here, and what time will erase.

Distant pools and lines we retrace,

A secret text that we embrace,

The scars we wear, but cannot displace.

Twigs weaving a labyrinth in the cold.

Winter’s sleep is deep and steady,

Cradling the stories of seasons past.

Beneath the shell of stubborn buds,

A tiny heartbeat begins to stir.

For now, they sway in a silent net,

Dreaming of the green yet to be born.
