May has been a really productive art month but I seriously be drawing everyone but my girlie Lei 💀💀💀 Which is crazy considering in 2024 I basically only drew Lei LMAO

Anyways here are the three vailei kiddos -- I realize I never drew all three of them in one shot so here's the three of them taking a selfie together. They're also in matching hoodies that are supposed to be based off of different cat coat colours??? (Like Ceres in a black hoodie = black cat, Yuelan's hoodie is supposed to be the colour of russian blue cats and Mingxuan's hoodie is supposed to be a siamese although you don't see the colourpoint parts. WELL LMAO IN THEORY that was the goalbut you cannot really see it XD)

I also got really lazy with the bg so it's a picture I took XD I would think this is probably a modern AU setting where they're in their parent's house ^^ Maybe their parents left them alone overnight and they asked for a selfie to confirm their kids are still alive?

I guess this could have counted for Day 24 (Fantasy AU) of the OC-tober challenge... I was hoping to redraw witch! Lei because I don't like how it turned out in the portrait : / (hence why I'm not posting her portrait)

Happy birthday to the vailei fraternal twins, Mingxuan and Yuelan!!! I'm super proud of the way they're posing here cuz it shows off their personalities really well : ) MX is more outgoing and YL more shy!

As per all my birthday drawings I also try to give everyone slightly different signatures but unfortunately my writing is uh the same XD I do think Mingxuan has a pretty scratchy writing style compared to Yuelan, who has a more neat and precise elegant hand!

It was super important for me to make them Geminis (the twins horoscope!!!) and I wanted them to be born in May rather than June as they feel like Spring babies to me! (Especially since they both have flower characters in their name -- Mingxuan's "xuan" is daylily and Yuelan's "lan" is orchid!) Perfectly, the 22 fits in the slot and represents how there's 2 of them -- twice! : ) (I really am proud of their birthday LOL. Cooking in the most absolutely random way)

Please be proud I drew like 2 characters in 1 canvas this took me way too long 😭😭😭 I crunched hard so it's still the 22nd where I am barely hahaha but omg I miss drawing my OCs all cute.

Did you notice that all of Lei's friends have white turtlenecks in their birthday outfits and Lei's children have black / dark turtlenecks? :3 All very intentional~

The next birthday is in August... ACTUALLY no wait June 22 is a special boy's birthday :3 I wonder who :3 I better cook good for that one :)

Vailei Siblings

The eldest siblings and older twin sister, Mingxuan (明萱) is a responsible and caring doctor/medic. In my headcanons, she would have been mentored by Elise as well as her mother Lei, so she should be capable in general doctor healer stuff as well as drug making. Her motto is "work-hard, party-hard" so she has some uh pretty bad coping mechanisms when she's off work. I really like her personality and I imagine if I were to play these siblings in a campaign, she's the first one I'd play :3 I hope she girlbosses hard 🥺 She has many angel/feather motifs in her design and her theme colour is green (more dark green). Her colours are supposed to be earthy and warm!

The middle child who definitely feels like a middle child, Yuelan (月兰 / 月蘭) is the younger twin sister to Mingxuan and older sister to Ceres. She's rather anxious so comes off as cold, and has always lived in her twin sister's shadow. However, she has skills of her own, being a skilled decker/hacker (in my headcanons she would be trained by Artemis... if Artemis is alive after the campaign that will determine the fate of these siblings being canon XD). She is very catgirl-like and often styles her hair into cat-eared buns! She really really likes cats! She also has a combat kitty as her bot who does some fighting for her as well :3 Her design is based off of a russian blue cat (dark grey-blue fur, green eyes) so she needs to look as cat-like as possible! Plus of course, she has lots of moon themes from her name!

I'm particularly proud of the Chinese names I picked for the siblings cuz they both have "moon" in the first character and a flower (daylily for MX, orchid for YL) in the second character. I imagine MX was born in the day? Afternoon hopefully and YL at night. It's possible MX was born in the morning and YL at night but that's a long ass labour... RIP Lei XD

The youngest and only son of the three siblings, Ceres is heavily doted upon by the rest of his family. He is almost a carbon copy of his father in terms of looks and some parts of his personality (ex: his laid-back/easygoing personality), which has caused him to potentially have some daddy issues. He also has a hidden violent (yandere LOL) side when his loved ones are threatened or harmed. He feels very unskilled/incompetent compared to his older sister and the only time he feels free is when he's driving, usually on his motorbike. In my headcanons he has both cars and motorbikes but his signature motorbike is a model that has CHEETAH (he's built more for speed than strength) scrawled across it. He's supposed to be a catboy with toxic/poisonous colour themes (green/purple), with lots of sharp diamond/crystal shapes, and he's just a little dangerous 😳😳😳 But he cares a lot for his family so once you harm them it's over for you.

A little diagram that shows more design features in these siblings! :3 I tried to make it super clear what the main ideas are for each of them! One thing I want to point out is how they all have different necklaces! Mingxuan's is a feather for her angel themes, Yuelan has a moon for the her name, and Ceres' is from his mother, which was a gift (see the bonus stories I wrote for "Those Who Leave, Those Remain", specifically the bonus story "A memory lost to space and time") from the original Ceres! It also generally describes their sibling dynamic really well. They are a family unit of 3 siblings (and their parents if they're still alive but y'know parents aren't alive in cyberpunk XD) so DO NOT SEPARATE!!!

I imagine MX spends most of her days at the clinic doing her doctor work, Yuelan works at home but may spy on her siblings as they do their work to make sure they are okay, and Ceres often is being a driver? IDK what he does (kept man???) but he def makes medicine deliveries for MX! Maybe he's a guard for the clinic on the side? XD He is a "support" as in he "supports the enemies' rights to die". All three of the siblings can fight as they are the children of a runner and a doctor who can apparently shoot better than a sniper XD

I may be cringe but I am free -- my thoughts when designing/making these very self indulgent OCs that may not be canon for the intentions they were supposed to be made for. (I wonder who's designs I based them off of/ who their parents are supposed to be? Sure a mystery isn't it 🤔🤔🤔)

Anyways meet these fraternal twin sisters, Yuelan (moon, orchid) and Mingxuan (tomorrow, daylily). Their names are Chinese characters and are supposed to be similar to each other since they are twins after all! They do not look that similar in appearance, taking from different aspects of their intended parents, but, I imagine they are still very very close. Yuelan was originally supposed to be the older, taller one who acts like the younger sister, while Mingxuan was supposed to be the shorter, younger one who is more responsible and acts like the older sister BUT... I might just swap the seniority here XD

Yuelan's design comes from me wanting to make her like a cat girl, specifically to look like a Russian blue cat (with the blue hair, green eyes). I even gave her little cat ear buns to make her more catgirl-like, although she might wear catgirl headphones when she has her hair just down. Personality-wise, she's shy and socially anxious, but this makes her come across as cold/rude sometimes -- but inside she's always internally panicking when she needs to speak to people. This is why she hides behind her sister and has Mingxuan talk for her the majority of the time. She is intended to be a hacker/decker but I have yet to determine how exactly she got that sort of training. Her theme colour is mostly blue, as you might be able to tell.

Mingxuan's design is intended to be based off of feathers/angels, although she might have some leafy green plant aesthetics too! I gave her some crosses/plus signs (whatever you want to call it) in her ears as earrings, as her pupil, and as a necklace on her neck because guess what? She's a healer/ doctor in training! (I imagine she is trained by not only her mom but her aunties XD). Personality-wise, she is friendly and charming -- she likes to tease her younger siblings as well as hot people. She is definitely much more sociable, and pleasant to talk to in general. Her theme colour is dark green mostly, and I want her to have very earthy tones, although she likely usually dresses in black and white and is quite practical about the types of clothes she wears.

I also want to design a younger son (4-6 years younger than these two) who may be named Ceres who is heavily doted on by the rest of his family for being the baby. He would have a very chill, nonchalant personality and probably be some sort of driver. 👀 Maybe I will draw him soon. I imagine similar to his sisters, he has a cool colour palette -- likely dying his hair purple, and his eyes will likely be green. Or for funsies he could have heterochromia and have 1 green eye and 1 brown eye who knows XD I'll figure it out when I design him. I want him to be very catboy like and quite similar to his father so that they'll be like yup... that's his son alright.

Well but you know this is self indulgent IDK if they'll be allowed/ get to have children :') But it would be Lei's dream so who am I but a vessel to portray my OC's wishes.
