Okay random idea, but I just really love big simp Obito, loving and doing everything for Kakashi, while being the leader of a big evil group, trying to take over the world.

I could imagine him thinking he is being romantic by leaving Kakashi gifts, but my man is so fucked up and basically a cat so the "gifts" are mostly creepy and scarry. Probably something like a dead enemy that graced Kakashi in a fight once. Kakashi is ofcourse freaked out by the "gifts" and knows he has a stalker, but everytime he gets guards, they end up in genjutsus and sleep through it. So everyone start thinking that Kakashi is either possessed, crazy (and actually the one doing it) or protected by the spirits of his dead team. Since it happens from quite a young age - Kakashi starts thinking that it is normal and stop telling others about it, because if they know, he can't go on missions.

Maybe this is also the main reason that Obito helps kill all the Uchiha. They have been pestering Kakashi for his eye and obito has been looking for a reason to destroy them.

The other Akatsuki know of their bosses obsession, so some of them decide to challenge Kakashi when they see him, to make sure he is good enough for their leader. Other members run away when they meet him, cause they know, they will die if they touch him.
