He hadn’t known where to go. The moment it became clear General Skywalker didn’t believe him, he ran. He kept both the General and Captain Rex under the ray shield and fled. He shed his armor and ran down, down, down. On level 1313, he ran into a hangar. Maybe he could rent a ship, or— His thoughts stuttered to a stop as a girl with curly hair entered, carrying a crowbar.

“Who are you?” she demanded. She was young, he realized.

I was going to do somethig different for this prompt. Then there was this absolutely horrible customer who stayed past close and then said I was rude af to her so I got really pissed. Here's the result. I'm sorry, dear readers. Please accept the fluff in the beginning as a peace offering.

Day Thirty: Breaking Voice / Stoicism

“They are truly adorable, Anakin,” Obi-Wan said. Anakin felt so full of pride, he thought he might actually burst.

“Aren’t they?” he preened. Padme handed Luke to Anakin. Obi-Wan gave Leia a light kiss and passed her to Padme.

They were so small. Luke squirmed and kicked his little feet. Anakin bowed his head and held him closer, pressing a feather-light kiss to his forehead. Then Luke yawned and Anakin could hardly stand it. His son was so adorable. “Oh,” he crooned, “you’re so precious, aren’t you? You’re my little sunshine.”

Day Twenty-Nine: Terrible Truth

He headed for Padme’s apartment. He hoped it was late enough that she’d be there. A part of him thought he should not want her to see him distressed like this, but another part whispered that, though he had no memory, this would surely not be the first time she’d seen him upset. He realized that she might have actually been there when he’d learned— he shook his head. No. He could not keep thinking about this until he was somewhere safe.

When he reached her door, he knocked. He was sure she was used to him just letting himself in but he felt more comfortable respecting her personal space. It didn't take long for the door to slide open. Padme stood in the doorway.

Day Twenty-Eight: Chains

He was carrying a large box. That was his excuse. Later, Obi-Wan would ask why he was carrying it and not levitating it, and Anakin would reply that he just hadn’t been using his brain, okay? The poor driver of the speeder had been driving rather fast and had no time to stop. And Anakin had been focusing on getting Ahsoka out of the way. By the time he thought to get out of the way, it was too late. He hit the ground hard and got a nasty roadburn up his side. He was pretty sure his ribs were broken and his head spun. He tried to push himself up but only ended up aggravating his ribs and his head. Pain shot through his entire body and he ended up vomiting on the ground. Ahsoka was at his side, keeping him up as he heaved.

Day Twenty-Seven: Accident

“Come on, Skyguy,” Ahsoka whined. “You promised saber practice today.” Anakin sighed. He looked more tired than usual, and normally Ahsoka would have said it was okay to skip it. But they hadn’t practiced in four days. And she was getting bored. While she enjoyed what time they spent at the Temple, she found herself growing restless with each passing day. Sparring would help get rid of the on-edge feeling that had been steadily growing.

Day Twenty-Five: Amnesia

His… what? He had a wife? This beautiful, kind woman was his wife? He couldn’t believe it. It was too good to be true. She reached out almost hesitantly and took his arm. “Let’s walk to my office. I don’t think we ought to have this conversation here.” He nodded mutely and allowed her to lead him to her office. He looked around, taking in the space. It was organized and looked far more inviting than the Chancellor’s office had. Padme left him standing in the middle of the room and walked over to her desk. She wrote something down on a piece of flimsiplast and walked over to him again. “This is my address. If you’re comfortable,” she swallowed, “you can come by tonight and we’ll… talk. If not, it’s okay—”

“Hey,” he cut her off, offering her a smile. “I’d love to come by. I think Obi-Wan wants to work through some saber forms with me, but I’ll come over later tonight.” She looked incredibly relieved and his chest tightened. He had no memory of her or their relationship, but he felt safe with her. Her uncertainty about how to approach this without making him uncomfortable made warmth and fondness bloom in his chest.

Day Twenty-Four: Protected by an Enemy

Anakin groaned and hunched over. His entire body hurt. He just wanted to close his eyes and let sleep claim him. Or unconsciousness. He didn’t care. Dooku walked over to him. “Skywalker, listen to me.”

“I don’t think I have much of a choice,” he groaned. His limbs spasmed from the electrocution and his tongue felt heavy.

“At the start of this war, I told your master something he seems to have forgotten. Anakin tilted his head up to meet Dooku’s gaze with some difficulty.

“What do you mean?”

“What if I told you the Senate is being manipulated by a Sith Lord?”
