Grabbing the bot impatiently and holding it close to his chest as he ran through the partially leaning building, into the unnaturally quiet dinging hall, and through a broken side door off its hinges into the kitchen. Echo figured he couldn't take much this morning, Clancee had noticed last time shockingly fast for the metaphorical snake he is. He'd heard Master Nadakhan use that to describe him once, maybe it was the constant green to his skin?

He stood back from the counter and held Gizmo out to face him.

Echo hadn't even said a word before Gizmo began shaking their head profusely in his grip. Echo sighed, looked hard at his friend "Come on, it's just one apple, no one will notice," Gizmo stops shaking their head to glare straight back in his eyes, a sarcastic chatter rose from the bot.

The footsteps grew closer as Echo's window of escape shrunk. He swallowed his growing anxiety as fast as he could as he turned and narrowly dogged the incoming threat's line of sight as he ran through the broken door, letting it swing while he ran out into the Dining hall, no longer empty and now filled with his heavy breathing, and down the few steps back into his and the other boys room.
