Today begins to mark the return of spring! A small light in the darkness of winter as the sun begins its return. It is also a day that many honor the goddess Brigid (or Saint Brigid).
For this Imbolc, I wanted to share some insight to the oracle card from my Azúcar Bone Oracle:
🌞 This card pays homage to Ireland where Imbolc is well know. The two main images is a sheep skull and Brigid’s Cross. Brigid’s Cross is thought to keep away evil, and hunger from the home.
🌞 What is an oracle card or oracle deck? This type of deck is another form of cartomancy. These decks can feature any theme or images to provide guidance. They can be used with or without tarot, in or without a card spread. I, personally, consider them similar to interpreting dreams.
🌞 Azúcar Bone Oracle decks are available on my website!
For this month's hagging out I was planning on crafting a new tool to be used in my practice with help from the incense I made last June, and I prepared for this. I even got (almost) everything ready to go.
However, best laid plans and all that - these ones were derailed by a dream, as per usual. I will still make the tool, just later.
In the fall of 2019, back in the before times, I began a healing working for a dear friend of mine who was struggling with an unknown/undiagnosed illness. Now it seems that the time has come to complete my working.
Unfortunately, I am unable to share the process of this one, but in incense was involved.
Thank you as always to @graveyarddirt for hosting these, they keep me active in my practice and I greatly appreciate that rn.
This past weekend was Convocation, a convention for witches, pagans, and other “alternative” spiritual paths. It’s local and I try to go up for a day when my schedule allows.
I only attended one workshop, that of author Ellen Dugan who is regular staple at the con. Her books Garden Witchery, Cottage Witchery, and Natural Witchery were pretty foundational in my transition from traditional Wicca to hearth witchcraft. She really knows her stuff when it comes to gardening and is very entertaining as well. She always tries to bring something new to talk about in her gardening panel and this time it was the idea of plant familiars.
Now, if anyone were to have straight up asked me what my plant familiar was I would say lavender because I love it. Its my favorite smell and purple is my favorite color. But as she talked about how its a plant that you’re inexplciably attracted to, that you might commonly pick out patterns with it, and it that will do well no matter what you do, I realized I already have plant familiar and its this guy right here:
I have always love ivy patterns and have several in my kitchen. My old house had these exposed beams which I decorated with artificial ivy vines. When I thoughtlessly doodle I always end up drawing an ivy vine.
I bought this guy on a whim a while back. I remember I had just read an article on the best houseplant to filter the air when I spotted him on sale at my local Meijer. Brought him home and he did well, but I kept moving him around because I wasn’t quite happy. Until I put him on the fireplace.
This was before I had move my altar there. It was perfect and shortly there after I realize I wanted to put my altar there. I moved off the other decorations I had but Ivy stayed because he was a plant and natural and it just made sense.
It all makes sense now. So going forward, I am going to try to be more mindful of including Ivy in my work.
I only had a bit of time so I opted to visit the marketplace (vendor room) and the art room rather than take another class. I bought the otter print above from Zaheroux. I also got a lovely moon necklace from Autumn Moon who I’ve been wanting something from for awhile now.
I was interviewing my new oracle deck, Azucar Bone, from Megan Weber using the We've Only Just Begun spread the other day. Looks to be a bright future for us together. If anyone wants a small reading, hit me up.
🍂 A simple drawing to honor my soul cat and loved ones who have passed. I’ve always enjoyed the idea of being put to rest among the glorious colors of autumn.
🍂 Prints of “Bury Me In Autumn” will be available on my website soon!

🌱 Blessed Ostara! 🌱
Today is the first day of spring! Warm weather should be here soon and with it the colors of the season.
For this Ostara, I wanted to share some insight to the oracle card from my Azúcar Bone Oracle:
🌱 This card represents the start of spring. Small flowers grow towards an orange Sun, and a rabbit skull to tie in the season. Soon baby animals and a sense of rejuvenation will come around and the cycle of life and death continue.
🌱 What is an oracle card or oracle deck? This type of deck is another form of cartomancy. These decks can feature any theme or images to provide guidance. They can be used with or without tarot, in or without a card spread. I, personally, consider them similar to interpreting dreams.
